Wanda Lou Trapp

Wanda was born September 30, 1937, at the Nix Hospital in San Antonio, Texas to MaryBelle and Theodore Anderson. Wanda was raised by her loving Grandparents Pearl and Albert Oleson. She was married to Bill Trapp on August 25, 1956.

Wanda graduated from South San Antonio High School at 16. She was a member of the band and a feature baton twirler. She then attended Trinity University, San Antonio College, the Indiana School of Business. She started her career at the San Antonio Library. After moving to Houston in 1964 she spent the rest of her full-time employment as an administrative assistant in Oil and Gas and grain brokerage. She retired and continued to work part time at church nurseries and at DT Marine Products.

Wanda was a 4th generation and a great historian of Texas. She was an avid reader and watcher of PBS. She loved attending the Houston Ballet and Live Theater. Being a child of a baseball player she loved the sport and didn’t miss a watching a Houston Astros game. She loved watching tennis, football, and wagering on the ponies. Her favorite passion was laughing, and she did lots of that. She was a member of the congregation at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church.

Wanda is survived by her daughter Leah Trapp Troville and husband Darrell of Fulshear, Texas. Her daughter Lesa Trapp, Her daughter Lora Trapp of Austin, Texas. Grandchildren Mary and Nick Manrique, Jaime and Rick Dunn, DJ and Sara Troville, Kyrstin and Adam Van Demark, Willow Wilson, Christian Wilson, Michael Wilson, Wade Smith, Wyatt Smith. Great Grandchildren Tristan, Mackenzie, Sam, Vance, Hayes, Ryen, Kamryn, Jaxon. Great Great Grandchildren Kasey, Phoebe, Jameson. Numerous of loving nieces and nephews.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, grand parents, and husband of 30 years.

A visitation for Wanda will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079. A committal will occur Friday, October 20, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
