He was born in Paris, Arkansas on October 16, 1931. Bud graduated from Fort Smith Northside High School and attended night classes at the University of Houston Downtown while working. He enlisted in the Navy in 1951 and served in the Korean War on the USS Castor. He was Honorably Discharged in January 1955. After leaving the Navy, he moved to Reno Nevada to live with his aunt and uncle and found work as a bank teller. He subsequently moved to the Houston area in 1957 to be close to his brothers and sister and soon started working at a bank in downtown Houston. There he would meet his future bride, Bonnie Houser, and married her in 1959. He was married to Bonnie for 65 wonderful years. Bud continued climbing the ladder in the banking business eventually reaching the level of Executive Vice President at Guardian Bank in Northwest Houston. He finished his career as the CFO of the Kalil Produce Company and eventually retired in 2001. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, traveling with his bride, and most of all, spending time with his family. Bud never met a stranger and loved gathering with friends and families during holidays and special occasions. His beaming smile and joyful nature will be missed by all who knew him. His selfless nature will be admired by his family for generations to come.
He is survived by his son Barry Houser, granddaughter Hayden Houser, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
