Walter E. "Gene" Albright, 81 entered into eternal life on May 2, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Walter was born on November 14, 1931 to James Louis Albright, Sr. and Mary Ray Albright in Duncanville, Alabama. Walter worked for Pan American Airways for 17 years and Sante Fe Southern Railway, formerly Southern Pacific where he worked for 26 years until his retirement. He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church and United Transportation Union. Walter served as a Radioman Second Class in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Walter is reunited with his parents; brothers, James Louis Albright, Jr., Archie H. Albright and Charles W. Albright; sisters, Mary Etta Coker, Imogene Harley and Gwendolyn Albright; father-in-law, Kenneth Kaar Potter; mother-in-law, Myrtle B. Potter and sister-in-law, Kaarlene Fitzsimmons. Walter is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie Albright; children, Malynda Albright (Everett Tannert), Charlotte Albright (Randy Diemert) and Glenda Albright (Victor Todaro); grandchildren, Amber and Amanda Diemert, Adam and Aaron Tannert and Anthony Todaro; sister, Betty House (Joe); sister-in-law, Gloria Albright and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Visitation with Walter will be Monday, May 6, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pat H. Foley & Company. A Graveside Celebration of Walter’s life will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations may be made in honor of Walter E. “Gene” Albright to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
