Vladimir Vojvodic passed away at the age of 94 in Houston, Texas, on March 16th, 2022. Although he was of Montenegrin heritage, Vladimir was born in Cairo, Egypt on December 9, 1927, to Filip Vojvodic, of Radomir, Montenegro, and Maria Jazbak Vojvodic, of Sveto, Slovenia. Vladimir attended Christian Brothers College Saint Joseph-Khoronfish, the Lycee Francais du Caire, then graduated Second Part French Baccalaureate, he completed a degree in Mathematiques Speciales and attended both the Ecole d’ lngeniorat et du Batiment and lnstitut d'Actuariat du Caire.
The Vojvodic family left Cairo in September of 1959 to settle in Switzerland, and after a short stay in Lausanne Vladimir emigrated to New York in July of 1961. There, he met and married Kathleen Reeves, and by 1968 they welcomed their first son, Jovan. The Vojvodic family moved to Brussels where their second son, Adrian, was born in 1971. After two years in Milan, Italy, Vladimir finally settled his family in Houston, Texas in 1976. A strong proponent of family cohesion, Vladimir was incredibly pleased to join his sister Angela Tomich, her husband Zdravko Tomich, and their grown children, his nephews John Zoran Tomich and Richard Vladimir Tomich in making Houston his home. In Houston, Vladimir enjoyed raising his two sons and welcoming his two beloved granddaughters, Katie and Riley Vojvodic.
To his great regret Vladimir is pre-deceased by his dear wife Kathleen Reeves who died in 2004. He is also pre-deceased by his older siblings: his brother Jovan Vojvodic, his sister Milena Vojvodic Poulianovski, sister Annie Vojvodic Cvetkovic, and sister Angela Vojvodic Tomich. He is also pre-deceased by nieces Tatiana Poulianovski Honegger and Laura Vojvodic.
Vladimir is survived by his son Jovan Vojvodic and wife Christiana, his son Adrian Vojvodic and daughters Katie and Riley, his nephew John Tomich and wife Sandy and children Angela, Andrew, Michael, Nicholas and Anni, his nephew Richard Vladimir Tomich and wife Karen and daughter Tatiana, his nephew Radomir Vojvodic and sons Alexandre and Philippe, his niece Natasha Poulianovski, and his niece Chloe Honegger.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery on Friday April 1, 2022, at 10:00 am.
