Vivian Ann Whiteman, 73, passed into eternal rest on January 22, 2020. She was born December 14, 1947 in Houston, Texas to parents Delbert and Margaret Leeper. She graduated from M. B. Smiley High School in 1967. Vivian was a corporate officer and bookkeeper for Houston Technical Sales, Inc. She was a member of Amateur Radio Campers. RV camping with friends, gardening, and devoting time to her grandchildren were her passions.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Clifford A. Lipp. Left to cherish her memories are husband John C. Whiteman, daughter Lisa G. Soester, grandchildren: Penny, Eliuah and Ophelia Soester, sister Linda G. Lipp.
Vivian was loved by so many. She always had an open home and heart for anyone who needed it. She enjoyed visiting and traveling with friends. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend. She showed us unconditional love and will be missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive extended family and friends for visitation on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. The funeral will be on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Family Chapel at Brookside. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
The family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and caregivers who cared for her during the last 12 years of her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation to the American Lung Association in her name.
