Virtudes C Cardenas

Virtudes Cardenas, 82 of South Houston, Texas was born in Acuna Coah, Mexico to Encarnacion and Catalina (Ibarra) Renteria and passed away at her home on September 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was a very active person who loved to tend to her garden and her plants. She enjoyed attending all family functions. She was a great storyteller and loved being with her grandchildren. She worked for the Pasadena School District for over 23 years as head custodian. She attended San Juan Diego Catholic Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church when she was able.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother; Refugio Renteria; and her husband, Cipriano Cardenas, Sr. She is survived by her children; Tudi Hitchcock; Cipriano Cardenas, Jr. and wife, Rhonda; Elizavet Lopez and husband, Philbert; Encarnacion Cardenas; Rosie Sanchez and husband, Joel; Jose Cruz Cardenas and Claudia Terrazaz and husband, Christopher; along with 25 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one on the way; she is also survived by her sisters, Maria Torres and Rosalinda Renteria and other extended family members who will miss her greatly.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, September 20, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with burial following at Forest Park Lawndale. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Philbert Lopez, Sr., Philbert Lopez, Jr., Timothy Hitchcock, Joe Cruz Cardenas, Sr., Jose Cruz Cardenas, Jr., Encarnacion Cardenas Sr., Cipriano Cardenas, Jr. and Cipriano Cardenas.
