Virginia Kathryn Boisseau Huber Humphries, age 92, died on the 10th of July 2014, in Houston. She was born on the 12th of June 1922, to Jesse and Dorothy Boisseau in St. Louis, Missouri. She was later raised in Oak Cliff, Texas, with her two brothers, Tom and Jack Boisseau.
She went on to earn a degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Women’s University in 1970. She was married to Otto Huber, Jr. and raised their family in Oak Cliff. Mr. Huber passed in 1975.
She was remarried to Floyd Humphries and moved to Houston in 1977. She was a member of South Main Baptist Church; Reba & Bethel Sunday School Classes; Memorial Bible Study; Memorial Forest Women’s Club; Broken Needle Sewing Club, and a long-standing bridge group that she thoroughly enjoyed.
She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Terry Huber; her husbands, Otto Huber, Jr. and Floyd Humphries; her brother-in-law, Bud Florer; her sisters-in-law, Rose Boisseau & Gladys Huber Florer; her brother, Jack Boisseau; nephew, Jay Boisseau; and niece, Jan Florer.
She was survived by a son, Steve (Cheryl) Huber; daughter, Carol Sue (Mark) Parker; and stepsons, Gordon (Pam) Humphries & Randi (Terri) Humphries; grandchildren, Lisa (Michael) Greene, Matt (Heather) Huber, Brandy Nunez, Jeremy Nunez, Elyse (Eric) Thompson, Adam Humphries, Connor Humphries, Melissa (Luis) Aparcio, Emily Humphries, and eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Tom Boisseau; sister-in-law, Dioro Boisseau; nephew, Jesse (Mendy) Boisseau, nieces, Anna Boisseau & Dorothy Boisseau; great-nephews and nieces, as well as great great-nephews & nieces; and a host of supportive friends who loved her dearly.
A funeral service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 12th of July 2014, in the sanctuary of South Main Baptist Church, 4100 Main Street in Houston.
The family will gather for a private interment at Laurel Land Cemetery in Oak Cliff at a later date.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family kindly suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Virginia’s favorite project, apartments for patients receiving treatment at the Texas Medical Center.
