She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on March 16, 1925 and was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Evans Lawrence Bissett, her daughter Sharon Bissett Duffield, her parents Vernon Martin Polk and Mae Wallace Polk, and her siblings, Louise Reagan, Faye Saunders, James Polk, and Willie Moore. She is survived by her sons Michael Evans Bissett and wife Stephanie and Daryl Martin Bissett and wife Jennifer, as well as her granddaughters Linley Storm, Leslie Organ and her husband Mickey, and Jessica Williams and her husband Garon, and grandsons Wade Gonsoulin, Bryan Gonsoulin and his wife Jennifer, and Samuel Bissett and his wife Michaela, and Joseph Bissett and his fiancé Lauren, and Evan Bissett and his wife Pamela, and Ethan Bissett and his fiancé Kirsten, and great grandchildren Savannah, Katelynn, Connor, Belle, Sydney, Danielle, Kristen, Trey, Audry, Evelyn, Jake, Luke, and Michael Ray.
Visitation with the family was held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, Texas, where funeral services began at 2:30 p.m. Graveside services and interment followed in Memorial Oaks Cemetery, also in Houston.
