Vickie Alcoser, 45, lost her battle to Cancer on the morning of November 12, 2021 at 3:30am at her home. Vickie was born on April 4, 1976 with her twin brother Joe in Houston, Texas and lived a happy and rewarding life. She attended Browning Elementary, Hogg Middle School, and Reagan High School in the Heights. Vickie attended the University of Houston, School of Art and majored in Graphic Design and was a member of the Gamma Alpha Omega-Xi Chapter sorority. Vickie was a very talented Artist and expressed her art through her work and life.
Vickie owned her own business as a professional baker/cake decorator at The Bakery Cupcakery where she provided customized meticulous and creative baking goods to her customers. As a true artist, Vickie strived to outperform her subsequent baking/decorating project. All her customers loved her and her work. Vickie also began a second job at ChipMonk Bakery just prior to her illness and it was a perfect match with them from day one. They loved her and assisted her with process of obtaining medical care. Vickie participated at various food fests in the Heights and various others and was featured in local publications for her baking/decorating skills and artistry. Every baked good and pastry was made and decorated with care and love.
Vickie and her Mom lived together and looked after one another, their welfare, and were best friends to the end. Vickie adored her family, immediate & distant, and all her friends.
Vickie was an angel on earth as she was able and willing to come to anyone’s needs at anytime no matter the time or place to be their confidant, offer advice, a shoulder to lean on, and encouragement to those who needed it. She worried about her family and friends’ health and welfare and even more so during her illness.
Vickie helped raise some of her nieces and nephews as though they were her own. Her life was about them. Vickie’s favorite time of year were holidays and especially family birthdays. She couldn’t wait to decorate and bake their cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.
Vickie was an avid Houston sports fan of the Astros, Texans, and the Rockets but a much bigger fan of the UH Cougar football and basketball teams and attended many games every year. UH sports venues were her second home. She loved to attend concerts as well and any event involving family and friends.
Vickie was a regular participant in the “Run for the Rose” fundraiser to support MD Anderson Cancer Center’s immunotherapy research, new drug development and clinical trials for patients with brain cancer in memory of her older sister, Cecilia. Like her older sister Cecilia, Vickie loved her cats, as they were her babies.
Vickie will be missed dearly by all her family and friends. She will be in our hearts forever.
We'd like to acknowledge and give our appreciation to all of the members of her health team at Harris Health and our friends who always offered support during her illness and these difficult times.
