It has been a long time since I've written to you. It has been a long few weeks. The volleyball team is in a rut and I don't know how to get us out.  Everything has been pretty good besides that. It is about once year since I found out about this setup they have for you and I am very grateful. Writing to you is one of the things that helps me release all my stress. I just graduated from NYU. I was an English Honors student, and I got magna cum laude and was named a Founders Honors Scholar.

I know this would make you angry but I cried the day I graduated because you weren't there. Taylor Swift was my commencement speaker and that was so special, but all I could think about what that we used to sing her songs together in your silver minivan all the time. You had the CD's for me. Your favorite was Should've Said No. Mine was Mary's Song, which is still the one where I think of you the most. I really can't listen to it without getting sad, even today. It would have been so perfect for you to be there and see Taylor with me.

At the beginning of her speech, she said she was thinking of those who helped us get here that couldn't be here today with us. That made me cry right away, even though I was trying not to.

I think you sent her because you couldn't be there in person. It made me so happy. 

I love you and miss you so much. I think about you every day and I would not be here without you. You are still as important to me as you were the day we lost you, and to my family. I will see you in my dreams.

Ive been having a very up and down week. I had a good day yesterday but this morning I found out something kind of jarring. Its hard, to hear about my friends hurting and feeling like I could've or should've done more.  But if someone doesn't want to share something, then they wont. Trust is so complicated. You feel so safe under the shield of it. It's so safe and comfortable. But when trust gets broken its so complicated. I wish I could call you. It's nice to get to write to you. Even though its on this public platform I feel like I'm only talking to you. I imagine you getting a cream colored letter with your name written on it when I write to you here. I think a little angle doggie brings it to you but somehow manages not to slobber on it. It's a real phenomenon. Happy Easter by the way. A few of my friends are going home or they are going home with their other friends. I think it is going to be a little deserted on campus this weekend. I will have some friends here though. Mama got me some fun things that I can do over the weekend and some nice sweets and treats, which I'm excited for. I guess that's all my news.

I just went back and looked at all the pictures that got submitted on here all those years ago. My goodness you were gorgeous when you were younger. I guess I've never seen pictures of you when you were really young but you looked beautiful. Your black hair was incredibly gorgeous. I asked Hannah the other day where you were from, like where you grew up. I guess there is a lot I didn't know about your young life. I wish I could ask you. And get advice from you. It"s so hard to explain to people how much you meant to me. Especially people from school who never knew me when I was younger.  I try not to be angry that you are gone, but sometimes it gets hard. I just missing you wish such a passion I can't explain. I wish I could remember more about you. Or sit down to have one more conversation. I wish you could see how much I've grown up. I'm trying to be good, like you were. Nice, and not petty. Although it's hard. I try to love really hard too. In the way that you did. So fiercely and so passionately. The way you loved Hannah and I as your own even though we weren't. Sometimes I feel really lonely at school and I wish you could hug me. I try to protect the people I love too. And to love them even when they might hurt my feelings. I think it can be hard though. Feeling left out especially. I wish I could talk to you when I feel lonely. I feel like that would make this feeling go away.  There was something so special about you. I can't even begin to describe your impact. I just wish I could show you off to all my friends. Show them how awesome you were in person. How much you have molded my life and my personality into what it is. Every day from now on I'm going to do my best to model myself after you.

Its been a while since I have written on here but things have been crazy. Im sixteen now! pretty exciting. I had a pretty good birthday. Mama sent me a really yummy cake and my advisor threw a birthday party for me and the rest of my advisory. She made this super yummy pasta. All in all it was a good day. Ive been thinking of you recently. Kinda how turning 16 marks the year when you were only here for half my life. Which made me sad. I wish you could meet all my friends. They would really like you, well everyone liked you. But i think you would like them too. I wish you could see Hannah and I together again. She grew up and is a cool person and her apartment is awesome. But still just as nice and she was when we were little.  I miss you a lot. And I wish you could see me all grown up. I love you

Georgia visited me this weekend and stayed with me in my apartment. If you were still around we would have Facetimed you, but I know you are watching over us. 

Mom and Dad are redoing our kitchen, I wish you were around to see how chaotic it is especially for the dogs and cats.  I can't believe that now we have four pets - FOUR! - who have never met you. They would have all loved you the most.

Last night I was getting ready to go to a wine bar and looking for a shirt...couldn't find it...where could it be....turns out Georgia took it and brought it back to boarding school with her. I bet you would have laughed if you knew about that. To be fair to her, I told her she could take it, but she told me she wasn't going to and then she did! I wish I could call you and tell you about my life.

It's been the craziest five week of my life. I have been dealing with a lot of hard subjects and a lot of loss.  It can sometimes be hard to find happiness in these moments. My mind gets trapped in all of the hurt and anger and fear. Sometimes those feelings put you into a deep hole. But I've been thinking about you a lot. How you were always strong. I'm trying to model that. To take care of my friends and be strong. But I know that I also need to take care of myself. So I want to work on that. I just know that like you were my family, my friends are my family. We support each other through everything, even if we are not blood. And so my goal is to be kinder. And to try to exhibit the qualities that you always did during you life. And when I remember you I want to remember how precious life is, and how important it is to cherish it. You are such an inspiration and I thank you every day for it.  I love you.

It's been a long week. I have been feeling lonely recently. I sometimes just feel like I am no one's number one. No matter what I am always in second place to someone else. Which I get. It's good to have a wide variety of friends. But I also feel sad when all of my friends have someone who is more important to them than me. And I feel awkward talking to them sometimes because they don't lean on me the way I lean on them. I don't know. I miss when friendships weren't this complicated. I guess I have just been having confidence issues. I can't seem to find something special about me. I know if you were here you would pick up my call and make me feel better. Mom says that I have a lot of your good qualities. And you were the most special person out there. So I know those parts of you make me special. And I know Hannah and I were your number one. Which gives me a little ease. The other day one of my teachers asked me what the picture on my home screen was. It's one of you holding Hannah who is holding me and I am holding my doll. I think we were reading a story. I explained to her that it was my babysitter holding me and my sister. I guess it is just hard when people don't or can't realize the impact you had on our family. You really were a third parent. I wish I could talk to you again. In-person. I wish I could hear your voice. Maybe, mom, has a video of you talking and I can listen to that. My elf on the shelf is here. I remember the day you got me her. Last year when I unpacked her out of the box I started crying because I guess I had not thought of you in a while. And all of those emotions came flooding in. It was such a good memory. I just miss you. I miss our Chucky-cheese runs. And going to Luby's and playing in the chic-fil-a playground. Thank you for doing all of those things for me. I love you long time. Forever really.

Sorry, I haven't written in a while, I just got back to school for winterium. Anyways everything has been good. I am sad that there is no volleyball though because I miss the team and my days seem much emptier without it. We are voting captains soon and I want to know who will get it. There is a chance that I get it which is exciting but now the idea of it is just weighing in the back of my mind. Whoever wins will do an amazing job though. JV basketball has been fun though. I like how I can be a leader on the team because I have more experience than most of the other girls.  All of my friends have been good recently. Not much else is going on here though. BIG NEWS!! We are getting ANOTHER puppy! Mom and Dad have been keeping it a secret for a few months now! A little boy puppy I will attach a picture below. He is so so so cute omg you would've loved him! I can't believe we are becoming a two-dog family! 2 TWO DOS!!! It's so crazy! The snout is gonna be so happy. I think Tigger will be a little mad but he will get over it I think. Also, Kate is having her last treatment tomorrow so she gets to ring the bell! Which is also exciting! Anna and Audrey and Caroline can drive now! Isn't that crazy! Caroline is always talking about your Mac and Cheese and how it was the best thing ever, which it was! Anyways that is what is going on here. Everything else is pretty normal. Hannah is coming home tonight and we are having a nice family dinner to celebrate everyone being here which I am excited for. I hope mom ordered a dessert that is yummy. I'm trying to get my driver's license too but it is a lot of work. Mom is being very helpful thought. Dad and I are about to go pick up Kenny and Ziggy's for lunch which is exciting because I haven't had it since I have been home.  That's all. Thinking of you and missing you.

I miss you. There is a lot to catch up on though. We had and lost our last volleyball game of the season. It was such a big bummer. I wish we could have won but I am glad I got to come home. There are a lot of people here right now in the house. Soon there are going to be more people than beds. I still feel lonely though. I miss my friends. I feel like every time I come home I have fewer people in Houston to come back to. I know it is partially on me for not keeping in touch but I feel like they could still do more to be excited about me. I don't know. I think it is hard for them to understand what it's like to leave and just be so happy. I miss you. There is so much I wish I could tell you. Taylor Swift re-released her Red album and it's interesting to hear her new voice vs her old one. I saw Kate today for the first time this morning. It reminded me of that time I visited you at home when you were sick. I don't really remember what happened but I just felt the same feeling I felt back then. So helpless and scared but also trying to be strong. I am scared. A lot. I miss you so much. So many of my friends can't really understand what this is like. But it's so lonely. I really wish I could hug you. I know I would feel better if I could. I just miss you. So much. I miss having you around to hang out with. I love you.

I miss you so much. I think during the holidays is a time when people really miss their loved ones who have passed, and I'm feeling that right now. I'm sure a lot of people who miss you will visit this page this season to say Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas and that they miss you, so I hope when they read this they know that they are not by themselves and that lots of people miss you and that you loved all of us who were close to you so much and showed it everyday.

There are so many things I wish I could ask you for advice on. It's so hard and confusing to be 22. I wish I knew what you would say about some things, and it's hard because sometimes I feel pretty sure about what you would say but then other times I remember how little I was when you passed and that there were things and opinions about how to be a bigger girl that we never got to talk about and maybe you would have surprised me.

I am doing a lot of crazy school stuff right now and should probably be paying attention. But instead I am thinking about you. I remember that you believed in heaven and you said heaven was a big field of flowers - you said that when our dog Molly died (Molly was obsessed with you) to make me feel better. It makes me feel better about you now.

I also imagine you doing the vacation type things you said you loved doing with your family. Vacation with them always made you so happy and you would come back very very tan! You tanned very easily. You loved cruises, tubing, and being in the sun. I never heard about you going anywhere cold, I guess you must not have liked cold! Maybe I am not remembering right. 

I am also sure that you are very busy watching over all the people you looked after (there are so many people who depended on you) and seeing people who are up there with you. You were always so busy because everyone who met you wanted to be your friend. Georgia and I used to fight over your attention. She has grown up a lot and is super cool. Sometimes things she does remind me of you, usually when she is being sassy or telling me that I am being silly which you occasionally did. She misses you very much, and I think in some ways the fact that she misses you even though she was small shows how smart and observant she was even from a young age. It also shows that she is proof of how amazing you are; even little people remember you and miss you. You mostly called her G and rarely Georgia. I remember you carried her a lot. Her shoes were always clean because her feet never touched the ground. I also remember you stopping me from tickling her because I was playing too rough, and watching me when I carried her to make sure I was doing it right.

The pictures of your family I see on Facebook are so pretty, and a lot of the girls look just like you...big big smiles like yours.

Very small note, I don't have a lot of time today but I can't let Georgia write here more than me!  Even though her notes are so sweet.

We miss you so much. I wish you could see the way I decorated my apartment because I think you would really like it and would be proud. I'm so tidy and clean now! It's crazy. No one believes it. Mama and Daddy think that I just clean up before they visit...

The holidays are coming and it's sad you're not here because you were the best to have around at holidays. You always were excited about seeing all your family (and a little stressed too by everything you had to do to get ready) and how much cooking there was to do. You were very fun to cook with. I made my Aunt Laura two strange breads, a matcha pound cake and a chocolate-pistachio-banana bread. She didn't like some of them that much but she was sweet. I wish we could cook something together. You would probably give good tips on how to make them much much better. I am thinking about the princess castle cake you made for Georgia's birthday.

Sorry I haven't written in a while. I have been so busy. School has been hard. I saw mom last weekend though which was fun. I miss you. I have been thinking about recently how these girls I am meeting at boarding school are literally my future bridesmaids. Like these bonds are literally so so strong. Well technically it was my friend who said that but I can't stop thinking about it now. How big of an impact these girls are making on me. I wish you could meet them. I know you would love all of them. Stella and I were in a little fight which I know you would be disappointed in. Sometimes I'm not very good at communicating with my friends from home but they are also all so special and I need to work on that. But we made up so don't worry. Because I know you would be so mad if I let a friendship as amazing as that one slip away. But I have to also make room for my friends here. Its a balancing game. Anyways next week Im going hom. Kate will be there for a few days which will be nice. I just hope I don't get sad. You did so much for our family and there are so many memories wrapped up in the house so I hope I can just be happy and grateful. I mean it is Thanksgiving. So I guess I should say what i'm grateful for.

I'm listening to white horse right now and it made me think of you. Everything is good here but I miss you. We have a really important volleyball game today so i'm nervous. We are playing the best team in our league and I really want to win so we'll see. Taylor Swift came out with new versions of all her songs because she didn't own the rights to her original songs which i think is good of her. Also, all her new music reminds me of you because it's the same song which is a nice feeling. Anyways not much else is going on here. I'm hoping to see one of my camp friends today. Also, I know you saw it but I want to tell you that I got chieftess term one. Just like sissy. It was amazing. My biggest dream ever came true. And we won the term. It was so fun and I got carnival queen term one too. then term two I got ccow and flame. Just a very quick note today that I am thinking of you very, very much. Dad is visiting me in New York this weekend and we are going shopping. If you were around we would definitely shop for some things for you. Last night I made myself some pasta with just a little bit of salt and butter - nothing else - and then I remembered how I used to refuse to eat anything but that, so you made it for me every single night.

I forgot to mention on here that, since Olga passed away, you and Olga are together now and are watching over me and Blake. We couldn't believe that you are both gone. Blake is so big and cool now! She is living in Boston studying opera.

Hannah reminded me of a memory. One about how we would always listen to Taylor Swift in the car. How my favorite song was White Horse. I have a lazy memory of you and me driving off the Kinkaid campus listening to white horse. I can't remember anything else. Just you and me and the song. It's a good memory. Even if it isn't really complete. We keep getting good news. Which makes me happy. Everything is starting to pick up again. I'm seeing mom and dad this Friday. Dad is going to watch one of my first volleyball games in like two years. My goal is to try and stay positive the whole game. I wrote your and Kate's initials on my shoe. So that I can play for you. And keep you with me even if you aren't directly on my mind.  And I can tap my shoe every time I need to be brought down to earth. It made me happy to know I had a little piece of you with me.  Mom and I talked today and it was a really good talk. I wish I could call you and rant about everything though. I wonder what you could think of my life and how I turned out. I try to imagine that I took all of your good qualities but I know it's impossible to be as amazing as you were. Now that I think back why did I like White Horse so much? I think my new fav Taylor swift song is Getaway Car. I think you would've had some real opinions on the new Taylor Swift. It would have been funny to hear what you had to say about her. My day today was good. I was mad this morning. I wrote this whole post about how mad I was at cancer. But I deleted it. Because it doesn't belong on this. This is to remember you. And how brave and strong you were. I really don't know how you did it. You were a force. You did everything in your power for Hannah and me. You would always make the most elaborate cakes for my birthday. You were a queen for that because I always had the best birthday cakes. You were so selfless. I try to do it too. Be selfless. But it's hard. We got good news today. Which is amazing. I just feel so pessimistic. I want to be happy but I'm just worried. I keep freaking out about everything.  I'm going to do something special for your birthday this year. I don't know what yet. But I'm gonna do something to remember you. It's been really helpful for me to write about this. I like to imagine you getting these notes in a little envelope up in heaven. Maybe molly brings it to you and you read it with Kepler and Austin by your side. I hope they make you happy. I know it makes me happy to think about you reading them. I want you to know I think about you. I know sometimes I forget about you and I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I wish I could see you. And we could visit and catch up. I wish you could see how much I grew up. I really did. I mean I'm still young. But I do a lot of new stuff now. I NAP! It's crazy I know! ME! NAPPING! But I do it now. I don't really take baths anymore. I think after you died I stopped. Because I don't think I really loved baths all that much. Hey Veronica,

I haven't written on here in a long time. I went to go visit Georgia this weekend at boarding school - I flew up to Boston from NYU, rented a car, and drove to her. Daddy made sure it was a very safe rental car, which I know you would have approved of. You probably would be a little shocked at the idea of me driving all over the place like I do now. I should have played some Taylor Swift when I was in the car with G, or any other music you would have played. Taylor Swift is so different now.

Georgia is so big and cool now, it's super annoying. It was her idea to write stuff here. If you were still alive the three of us would have a group text. We would also probably text you individually to complain about each other...but we are still super close which is definitely partly because of you.

I wish you were around to talk about my life. I've dated so many stupid guys since you passed... A few of them are nice, but I think telling you about them would have been funny. You would only have liked one or two of them. I should start doing better in your honor.

I would like to say that our family is thinking about you a lot, but the truth is that we are always always thinking about you. By the way, we have a dog now. His name is Argos. He is a golden retriever and he loves all people and he also loves dinner. I really wish you had met him, but I guess in a way it's good you didn't because he would have loved you so much more than any of us. I attached a photo of the dog and also of me so you can see how big I am now. We also have a cat named Girl Kitty - and I know G told you about sweet Tigger. Mom found Girl Kitty and brought her home, which was awesome of her. 

I love you so much. You are still a parent and a best friend to me. If I could have one thing in the world it would be for you to visit. Cancer took the person I would miss the most. But that also means that G and I will never forget you because you are the best.

Hi Ronica,
I saw that in a letter I wrote to you I called you that. My day got a lot better. This morning when I thought about you I was just sad. But my friend helped me realize that every time I think of you it doesn't have to be sad. There were a lot of good memories that I think about. How you used to take us to Luby's. & you knew that I liked the red jello the best so you would keep the CLOSEST eye on the jello section just in case a red one came out. & you would always cut my chicken for me. Those green beans were so yummy.  Luby's is closing. It's kinda sad. We never really went there after you died. I don't think mom & dad really liked it. Nana took us there once but it wasn't the same. It feels like the end of an era. All these memories just remind me how much you cared for me & Hannah. You were always there for us. There is this picture of you, Hannah & me. We are reading a book on the ground. Because that's the kind of thing you did for us. Got all the way onto the ground to read a story with us. We are each sitting between your legs & I have a doll on my lap. I have a little rash or something on my arm that you are thoroughly investigating. It's my screensaver. I see it every single day. I miss you. My friends have been really great. They all know I'm sad & they are taking care of me because you can't. I know you wouldn't want me to be sad. You would want me to be strong. But I am sad. I'm sorry it's just that I miss you. I'm not as strong as you. I'm trying though. I try every day to be half as good of a person as you were. You really were something out of this world. It's hard to imagine I will ever meet someone as amazing as you. You were so selfless & brave & kind & motherly. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe in God & heaven. Especially when I think about you. I just feel so cheated, for myself, & my parents & Hannah & your family & most importantly you. But Hannah said you believe in heaven. So I'm trying to believe that's where you are.

I woke up kinda earlier this morning which kinda sucks because Sunday is the only day you can sleep in at boarding school. When I woke up you were my first thought. I read most of the posts on this site and in one of them, it was someone talking about how much they missed talking with you. How you would always tell her about me and Hannah because "we were your girls too". That made me so so happy. And when I scrolled down more I found that when your family was choosing pictures for this cite they picked some of me and Hannah. Or ones that mom took of you. Mom has a folder on Shutterfly that is just pictures of you. Most of them are from the Aspen trip we all took. I'm sorry you missed so many trips after. Like Hannah's graduation. We had a hotel room for you and everything. We booked when Hannah was a freshman so of course, we booked for you. It was a really nice day. I wore a dress that I thought was really pretty. Looking back I don't know if it really was but whatever. It makes me sad that we won't book a room for you at my graduation. We haven't booked yet because unlike Hannah I chose a school that has more than one hotel. I got a kitten. Well, he's not really a kitten anymore but he was a kitten when I got him. I named him Tigger because he's orange with white stripes and is always bouncing around like Tigger in the show. WE thought we were going to change it to TIger when he got older but her never really grew out of his kitten Tigger-ness so we kept Tigger. He's a little mischievous. You definitely would've kicked that right out of him if you were around when we got him. He has such a big personality I don't know how it fits in that tiny little body. He's such a prince. He LOVES Lorena. He walks her to the door every night and greets her every afternoon. And Dad feeds him a shrimp every morning and every night. Tigger mewls and mewls until dad gives it to him. Hi Veronica,

To be honest I didn't know this existed. I guess I was too young to really understand technology enough. It makes me happy that Hannah posted stuff for me. I love that there are pictures of us on here. I go to St. Paul's now. I guess you probably know that because you have been watching over me this whole time. But I feel like I should tell you. I'm really happy, but I've been thinking of you. A lot really. Cancer just re-entered my life. So I guess you have just been on my mind a lot. I've been looking at pictures of us. I look so happy in all of them. Even when I was having an allergic reaction to penicillin I look happy in your arms. Yesterday Ms. Bohan asked me to say some nice memories about you. The first thing that came to mind is how you would always take me to Chic-fil-a. Even when Hannah wanted to go to McDonald's which is so stupid of her because the Chic-fil-a fries AND chicken nuggets are better than the McDonald's ones. Anyways you always said I got to pick because I was the youngest but I think it was really because deep down inside you just liked Chic-fil-a better. You were smart like that. Or how we had so many unused Chuc-E-Cheeze tickets left. I was such a saver even at seven. That habit has stuck with me. If I have a special drink in my fridge I don't drink it until a special occasion. But looking back on it I wish we had used the tickets before you died. I don't think I was even really looking to buy something big. I just didn't want to use them because I loved going with you, I guess deep down I worried if I spent them then somehow our visits would end. Or I would regret wasting them. But we should've picked something special out together. I just remembered how you would take me and Hannah to the rodeo. I don't go as much after you left. I'm committed to going this year though. All my New England friends want me to take them. I'm running out of room but I forgot to say before that I love you.

I am listening to the Taylor Swift Album we always listened to together - your favorite was Should've Said No but our favorite was Mary's Song. We loved Tim McGraw too, but we couldn't quite figure out what the song meant. I wish we had had more time to figure it out, I have some more ideas I want to run by you. I love you so much. The world got an amazing present today when you were born. You are still the best person I have ever known and no one will ever compare. I know you are spending your day somewhere in sunshine and on vacation, and I might wish that you were spending it with your family or with me, but I still hope that one day you will be with them again, and I will get to see you again too. That will be a relief; I've never quite figured out how to take care of myself as well as you took care of me. Sometimes it just hits me how beautiful you were. I was just in bed at school trying to go to sleep and for some reason I just thought of you. I thought of just driving in your silver minivan, and looking at you and you looking at me, and you would smile, and your teeth were so beautiful and your face was so beautiful and you were so tan and beautiful and happy. When Erica came to visit us I started crying because she looked so much like you and she was smiling at me and her teeth were exactly like yours. I love you so much and I miss you so much. You brighten up my world. I just got a picture painted of you, and there is this little piece of wall that hangs from my ceiling. It looks over my bed and it's really high up - higher than anything else in my room. I'm going to put our picture there, because you are my angel and I know that you are always watching over me, and I can look at your big beautiful smile every night when I go to bed. 

A really long time ago you told me that I wasn't allowed to be sad when you died. I'm not doing a very good job of that, especially not right now, but I think I'm doing a really good job of being happy that you lived, and that some of your life happened around me.

I have not written to you on here in a while. Logging on to this always makes me happy because of that beautiful picture of your beautiful, smiling face. When you said goodbye to me, you would always say "I'll see you in my dreams". That's the face I see in my dreams - it's you happy, healthy, and alive with your husband and family. That's who you were.

2016 is so much worse off without you. It would be so much better of a year if you were in it. This would be so much better of a world if you were still in it. 

In the middle of the night on New Year's, Austin died (for others who might be reading this, Austin was our cat and she ADORED Veronica). You called her Austy McGee. She loved you - she followed you all around the house just waiting for one of the moments when you would take a break and give her some of your love and time. You used to tell me that you thought heaven was a big beautiful field of flowers. I know you were there waiting for Austin in that field of flowers. 

Heaven is an amazing place, I'm sure. It's a place you welcomed and I know it's where you are right now, and it's a place that is so lucky to have you. And everyone likes to say that you are in a better place now, but I can't pretend, Veronica - I'm so jealous of heaven for having you. Heaven is wonderful already. Heaven is already beautiful, and amazing, and sweet and kind and loving. The world isn't as much. You, you were the shining star of the world. You made everything beautiful, and amazing, and sweet and kind and loving. It's hard for me not to want you and to think we need you down here, more than heaven does. I used to tell you that you were an angel and I was too right. 

None of what I'm saying right now is true, except the angel part, because you WERE an angel. You left for a reason and because it was your time and I know you were okay with that and that you are in a better place and I understand it. It's just hard for me sometimes - I'm sure it's hard for all of us. All I'm really trying to say is that, I miss you. I miss you so so much and you are still the light of my world. If I can live my life with a fraction of your goodness, your heart, your caring, your hard, passionate, honest love, then I will be so proud of myself. I marvel every day that I was blessed enough to have you take care of me, have you love me, have you be raised by me, be one of the lucky people that you devoted yourself to. It's still the biggest blessing of my life. The way I feel sometimes without you makes it seem as though you are lost, as though you are somehow separate and gone from the world. But how can that be when you are still the most beautiful thing in the world? How can that be when I still haven't found something that even compares to your shadow, your voice, your hugs, one day with your love? I haven't found a love that compares to even the sight of your silver minivan pulling in to pick me up from school. No one else's character is that strong. No one else's love is that strong, and that bright, and that shared. Not like yours. I've kind of talked myself in a circle here, and I know that. But I love you. Take good care of Austin, and I can't wait for the day when I see you again so that we can be together. In the meantime, I'll see you in my dreams. You are my Mama and my sweet sweet angel. I want to let you know I still love you, I still miss you so much, and I still think about you everyday. Nothing has changed really I still feel the same pain I did when you left. I think I will always miss you. The feeling of emptiness I have inside will never be filled, if anything it is only going to grow. I say that because I know you will be greeting grandma in heaven soon. I hate to talk like that but I can feel it. Whether I'm surrounded by family, friends, or alone it really doesn't matter, because the one person I really want to be near isn't here. However I will be fine. I am a strong girl, and I come from a strong family. Every now and then I feel a presence and in my heart and gut (mainly my heart) I know it's you. I just wish I can see and talk to you. I know you are still watching over us and taking care of us from where you are. like I said it's just hard not seeing, holding, or talking to you.On a good note God has been so great to Andrew and I. But you already know that. ;)

I miss you so much...I miss you when things are going really great, because you were my first phone call to talk about things and I miss you during times like this that I really just want to call you and cry and talk. I feel so lost still without you. Planning your Crystalynna's party isn't the same. Being happy in general isn't the same...when I hear people complain about their mom it angers me so badly because they don't know how lucky they are to have them and what I would give to have you back...just to talk on the phone about absolutely nothing, to meet for lunch...to watch lifetime with...it's so unfair...I know you are watching over us and I try really hard to keep it together and be strong for the kids, for jess...but it's too much for me sometimes. I read previous posts just now, and it makes my heart happy to know that we aren't the only ones who thought the world of you.  My rock. I miss how insanely funny you were, even when you weren't trying to be. Every time I hear some one say sandwich, I think of how you would say "sangwich" ... I told the story the other day about our "incident" at Panera Bread that day after chemo...i was so embarrassed,  I'm not gonna lie,  but it was funny. I love you mom...so much, I miss you, and you will forever be in our hearts. I'll try not to cry so much, you and Jess always tease me cause I'm a cry baby. I love you. I love you. I love you.

Mom, the past 2 days have been so great for me!! Tuesday we talked about you and had dinner at the house with dad! It was awesome!! It was so hard Tuesday getting through the day! But, for some reason after that day and night I have been unbelievably great! Just talking about you and how funny, sarcastic, and truthful you where. I just want you to know I'm doing so much better, I love you and my dream was pretty funny last night, thanks for coming to see me!!! :)

A year ago today, I lost you. I lost my Mommy, my role model, my friend, and my supporter. I lost the most loving, most beautiful person that I had ever been blessed to have known and to have had take care of me. 


Thank you for dropping everything for me and everyone around you. Thank you for telling me the truth. Thank you for yelling at the lady at the park when her kids were mean to me. Thank you for picking me up off the floor and putting me back together, literally and metaphorically. Thank you for holding me. Thank you for showing me how to love - you were better at it thank anyone I have every met in the whole entire world. My day got a million times better just to see your silver minivan pull into school to come and get me. I couldn't handle the excitement of waiting until 9:30 every morning, as a kid, when your car would pull up in front of our old house and you would be here to spend the day with me. You were the best thing that has ever happened to me. You made every moment full of warmth and love, every moment special. Every moment with you, it was impossible to forget that I was loved, because I had you. All my times with you were bright and beautiful and amazing, because you were bright. You were beautiful. You were amazing. And I loved you and I haven't forgotten that.

A year ago today, I lost you. I thought my heart had broken, but then I realized that you hadn't done that. You wouldn't break my heart. You didn't do that to me. You made my heart. You made me. My heart belongs to you, and you still have it. Everything that I am is because of you. My world is darker without you, but it is so much more beautiful because you were in it. 

You are not a past. You are a forever. You are the light of my life and the queen of my world. I love you so much.

I'm sitting here in disbelief that it's been a year since we lost you. In one instant, I experienced a heartache so deep that I never thought I could feel.   Everyone says that time heals and I'll be okay, but I'm still waiting to feel okay. I see you and your smile when I'm around the kids, it's so awesome to hear them say your funny quirky sayings about the craziest things that we would just laugh about.   I would give anything to have that one more time. I wish this was all just a horrible nightmare I could wake up from.  With all the human struggles I feel here, I am so very happy to know, without a doubt, that you are at peace. Since day one, that has been my only comfort in trying to accept the loss.  My heart will never be the same and will never understand why!!! But, I promised you that I would be here for my brother and the kids, and I will keep my promise. To my dear Angel in Heaven, how I miss you. I can't believe it's been a year since I had to say my final goodbye and give my final kiss goodnight. The sadness I felt then I still feel today. As I thought about this day I wondered how I would feel, what people would say to me, and more importantly , how our kids would be. As I traveled home today I thought many things. But the one thing that I can say with confidence, is that you raised some amazingly strong children. You would be so proud. I know you are proud. They have your strength and courage that you had to stand strong in difficult times. After reading the entries on this page and the one's on Facebook, yes, I am on Facebook now, I knew what I would say to anyone who asked " How are you". I would say that I have a choice of how I would keep your memory alive for me. I choose to smile vs. shed tears. I'll admit I shed tears today, but I can't help the sadness. But I decide to smile when I think of you for the wonderful lives we shared and the memories that we made along the way. There are too many too many to share, but those who knew "us", know exactly what I mean. You will always live in my heart. There is a space there that only belongs to you. I thank God for our time together. He lent you to me for almost 34 years, and then he took you home to be with him, amongst the other Beautiful angels. Please continue to watch over us my Beautiful Angel, for we know you are near. You were my first love, my life, my everything. Until we meet again, see you in my dreams. Miss you and Love you.

Hi Tia, I know you know all that's going on now because you are always near, so I won't go into details of our recent blessings. What I miss the most is your advice and what you would say when I didn't know what to do next, which is happening a lot these days. During our visits now I get so excited to see you I don't ever talk about the real issues that go on during my life. I loved how we didn't have to talk about anything but I still enjoyed the silence of your company. (We still have our silent moments) I miss you so much. It honestly doesn't feel like a year, mainly because my heart ache for your lost is still so painful. I love you, I miss you. See you soon.

As much as Mommy is my Mom, you were my mommy. You did everything for me - you held me when I cried, you helped me when I was sick, you dropped everything for me, you yelled at the lady at the park when her kids wouldn't give me a turn on the swing. You were the person my parents called when they couldn't convince me to get my tooth capped at the dentist. You were the person my mom called when Georgia was hurt and didn't know what to do. You took me to Cold Stone for ice cream, even though you like Marble Slabs better. When Cold Stone closed, you took me to Marble Slab. When Marble Slab closed, you took me to TCBY. You came to see us and help us even if you were sick. I've never known someone in my life who was strong enough and amazing enough to come into a babysitting job and become, in a lot of ways, the most important part of our family. But you were. It was never a question to us or to anyone who knew our family how important you were, and how lucky we were to have you, and how hard it was to lost you. But we have not lost everything you have given us. It is the most important thing in my life. I love you so much and thank you for being the greatest mom ever.

Sam and I wanted to let you know that our beloved Veronica Rodriguez, who has worked for us since 1999, passed away last night as a result of metastatic breast cancer.  Veronica was diagnosed just over a year ago, in April 2013. 
  
Veronica has been devoted to our family, and we to her, since the first day she came to work with us, when Hannah was about three months old.  She has been a third parent to Hannah and Georgia, and a best friend to Sam and me.  Many of Hannah and Georgia's fine qualities can be attributed to her.  She lovingly and faithfully cared  for my parents during the last year of their lives.  And our four dogs and cats had eyes only for her.  

In addition to being a major part of our family, she has four dynamic children and four gorgeous grandchildren of her own, as well as an amazing husband and a huge group of bunko-playing friends. Anyone who met her wanted to be her friend, so she made more new friends every year.  She took her mother shopping every Saturday. Such a big web of people depended upon her.
  
Veronica's work ethic, her warmth, her sense of humor, her patience, her trustworthiness, and her formidable dignity set a fine example for our family.  She always knew to be there when you needed her.  It is hard to believe that we will have to carry on without this remarkable person.

It's been 8 months today since my life was changed forever. I had no idea how I would go on. There's not a day that goes by that you are not in my thoughts multiple times. Sure doesn't feel like 8 months. I still have what I call BAD days. Days that are hard for me to control my emotions. There are so many triggers. I couldn't even watch the "Voice" all the way because I remember how we would bet on who would get voted off and who was going to win. I miss so much of what we shared everyday. I know that you have gone by to see some people in their dreams. I am still waiting for you. I know that you are waiting for the right time. But I truly enjoy the stories of your visit as everyone mention's how beautiful and happy you look. I ask that you continue to watch over us " Our Angel" and I pray that God continues to provide me strength and courage. The holidays were extremely tough. But we all knew you were here in spirit. I know that I felt it. Life is really tough without you. But I am trying. I miss you so very much. I am so sorry you got sick. I wish I could have traded places with you. But things don't work like that. People often say that all things happen for a reason, I just wish I knew why you. I'll stop now, as I know that there will never be a good enough reason. Hi V!  It's been 8 months today that our lives were changed forever!!  I think about you so much and I miss you!  Christmas was so hard without you there!  We know you were there though.  It was definitely an emotional roller coaster for me.  I wasn't sure how to feel or what to do, but it was comforting knowing you were there.  Sandy knew that you were gonna make something happen to prove your presence and you did!  They were playing Christmas songs on the radio and her and Jess were talking at the table and all of a sudden, your favorite song came on, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", and after the song was over, the music completely stopped!  Sandy came to tell me and it made me so happy!  We know that was your doing and you wanted it known!  I miss you sooo very much and I hope to see you in my dreams again one day!  I pray that you are resting and at complete peace in God's Hands!  I love you to the moon and back forever and ever V!  Until we meet again!

I miss you. You were one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Even though it wasn't your job to care for me, you still did as if I  was your own child.  I wish you were still here with us on Earth, but I'm glad that your happy in Heaven and no longer suffering.  As Hannah and I got older, you still found time to ask me about what shows I was doing and what songs I was singing, when you didn't have to know.  Some of the greatest memories I have from my childhood happened because of you in some way and I want to thank you so much for that.  Even when you were battling the devil that is cancer, you managed to smile and compliment me on my shorts. You were such an amazing person. I'm so glad I had the honor to know you throughout these 14 years of my life.

I miss you so much. I'd give anything in the world to have you at your home back in Texas healthy with your family and my family. My family's incomplete without you and we'll never be half as good as we were when we were blessed enough to have you with us. You are still everywhere in my life, Rodjica, even if it's not exactly the way that I would want. My room is covered with pictures of you. I remember things that you've said to me everyday. Last night I was cleaning out my email and I found a draft of an email that I wrote to Mommy for her to read to you, but never sent. I remember several years ago when Molly, our dog (I could call her our dog but she loved you the most) passed away, and you said that you thought heaven was a big, beautiful field of flowers in the clouds and that Molly was running and jumping through them and she was healthy again. I don't know if you're running and jumping - maybe you're sitting on a chairlift or tubing down some river - but I know you're they're now, and all I can say is that it better be real nice up there because you deserve the best and more that the world, my world or His heaven, could ever give you even if you didn't get that last May. It's September and I still don't know how we're supposed to function without you. You poured your whole heart into everything you did in a way that no one could ever help but love you. We still do, Veronica. Every single minute of every single day I know we all miss you. You were such a blessing and you still are, just a different kind. Rest in peace and I'll see you in my dreams.

Mom, I've been waiting for the right time to write here...Today is Crystalynn's birthday and it makes me so sad that you aren't here to call and plan what we are doing tonight. Every day is hard, but days like this make it almost unbearable... knowing that things will never be the same. Crystalynn has roses for her birthday for your presence, but I would give anything in the world for you to be here...bossing dad around telling him to order her a cake, and "make sure they do it right". Thank you again for showing me what a good mom is...and even though you were taken from me way too soon, the love you showed me and my babies will be in our hearts forever.  I am doing my best to take care of your girls like I promised you I would, and am trying to find the strength that you had along the way. My days are incomplete without our daily phone calls, but I know you are watching over us and see everything I want you too (even the things I don't want you too). I miss you more than words can describe.

I am having a really hard day! On the way to daycare this morning, kaleb told me that he was crying in his dream about you bc he wanted you to stay. It broke my heart, he said that that you came down from the sky and played with him at your house and then he didn't want you to go back in the sky! Im dying inside mom, I try and keep myself busy. But I feel like im just digging myself deeper in a hole that is just getting darker and harder to get out of!

When you were sick,  we would all pray everyday at 10a.m.,  for your healing, and although we still pray for you everyday, our prayers are alot different... we pray for your peace in Heaven.  I love you V!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get here. I'm still not sure that I can do this.  I look at your picture every day. I still can't believe that you are not here with us. I am trying to be as strong and courageous as you were but it is very difficult. I know you are in a better place and you are not in pain anymore. There are so many times in my day that I think about you and see things that remind me of you. I look forward to seeing you in my dreams. I love you V. I miss you so much.

Hi there Roni, I really don't know where to start... All I know is that I truly miss you so much. I miss your smile and your laugh especially . Since you joined our Father in heaven it has been very difficult not to cry when I think about you. The sadness I feel is a sadness I have never experienced before.. An empty space in my heart that can never be filled.  My brother is trying to be strong  but I can see the pain and sadness in his eyes. He misses you so much as do your kids. Please guide me in helping them get through this difficult, difficult time. I  promised you that I will be there for them and I will. 
I  know you are watching over all of us Roni, because that's just who you are... The only thing that gives me comfort is that you are no longer suffering or in pain. Your strength and your courage is something I will always admire about you. I will never forget you Roni. You will always be in my heart.  Till we see each other again,, I love you and miss you....

Hi Tia...
I am so sorry. I feel my days going down hill. I am not as strong as I was in the beginning. Every time I cry for you I cry as if you've just passed. Everyday that passes I miss you more and more. People say the pain will go away and I will be able to remember and talk about you without shedding a tear. But when will that day come? I go to bed wanting to see you, wanting to hold you. I hear all the stories about the ones you have visited with, those stories make me happy. I look for you everywhere I go. Grandma and my mother are so strong. I know they miss you so much as well as everyone else. I will not stop waiting, I know my visitation will come. Until then I will be here patiently waiting. Hugs and kisses from all of us down here.

Today I added some photos to the guest book and they brought me to tears, lots of them!!! Looking back at those pictures, brought back some great memories. We don't realize how precious those times are until a piece of your heart is taken from you and then see things will never be the same.  Even though, you are in such a much better place, I still wish you were here for your kids, my brother and your grandkids.  Our hearts still hurt so very much for you.  I found a Halloween video of you and I could hear your voice and your laugh and I miss that so much!  I hope you come visit me in my dreams again.  There have been so many things that have happened since you've been gone, that proves your still here with us, especially at Jordan's graduation!  I don't have to remind you, you already know how that worked out! :D  I love and miss you so much V!!!  I can't wait for the day that I get to see your face again!
