Being an administrative officer working at the Standard Institute for only 14 months before the fall of Saigon, I didn't have many chances to contact bro Tan. Moreover, my bureau was located in Saigon while he conducted research in Biên Hòa. Then a couple of dozens of years lapsed; the internet helped me to get in touch with him around 2012 through emails. And I knew that the old-time chemistry engineer set forth onto the spiritual path: practicing Zen and studying Oriental philosophy. At the news of his passing away an indescribable had me to help know the heartbreak of his close family members. I wish all of your will overcome this grief to get back the normal life. Tân and I used to work in the same office in Vietnam from 1974 to 1979. We shared many nice memories at the office before and after Saigon fell to the hand of the Communists. I even remember to attend his wedding reception at Á Đông restaurant in Chợ Lớn. Three years ago, while taking a trip with his proud grandson to the Lego park in DFW, he called me. We had a chance to see each other after several years of separation. We talked about the old days and how we escaped the Communist regime. Tân, you were a good friend to have. The Lord and Buddha will protect you in the Heaven. Your friend (Norm Dang) 🙏🙏🙏
