Valarie Lenora Gates

Valarie Lenora (Chapa) Gates, of Spring, Texas, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 following a long battle with diabetes and renal failure at the age of 46. She was born on December 10, 1975 to parents Rudolfo and Maria Yolanda (Perez) Chapa.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 24 years, Terry Gates, her son James Avery Gates, parents Rudolfo and Maria Yolanda (Perez) Chapa, Sister Jennifer Yvonne Chapa, nephews Gregorio Ontiveros IV, Dominic Ryan Ontiveros, Carlos Ray Ontiveros, and Abel Layne Ontiveros, great-nephews Eric Andrew Ontiveros and Aquillies Anthony Ontiveros.

Valarie is proceeded in death by her three children she miscarried, nephew Eric Ontiveros, grandparents Gregorio and Margarita (Lopez) Chapa, Regino and Lenora (Delgado) Perez.

Valarie was born in Houston and raised in Spring. She graduated from Spring High School in 1993. In high school while working for AMC Movie Theaters, she met her husband, Terry. They were married on March 14, 1998. Valarie worked for Aldine Teachers Credit Union (InvesTex) until she became a mother to their son James, when she then became a devoted stay-at-home mom.

Valarie loved and participated in everything she could when it involved James. School, Boy Scouts, Band kept her busy and she enjoyed every minute of it. She thrived when it came to family and friends. She became instant friends and left a mark with everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
