I have never been good with words so this is a bit of a struggle for me but here goes. Man, I grew up with you. The first person I ever called brother. I've known you since before I can remember. I can remember playing in your moms backyard, watching street sharks, and playing demolition derby games while our moms jammed out to god awful limp bizkit. Seeing you grow up was awesome. Seeing you find a passion for guitar and music was amazing. Wish I could've jammed with you more. Whether u were dating my younger sister or just hanging out drinking a few cold ones you were always a brother to me. Gone but never forgotten my brother. We will get a chance to jam again. Save a guitar for me up there. Much love

I met Tyler when he was dating Hailey.  He was funny and good-natured, and I could tell had a good heart.   I remember our outings to the Woodlands mall, and our lunches at The Cheesecake Factory, as well as his love of coconut cream pie and coconut cake!  As time passed, and Tyler and Hailey married and began their family, I was very proud of the man he had become.  Of course, he always kept his playful spirit, and was his silliest amongst friends, but he was also a great dad.  I loved watching him play wrestle with Kaylin, as she was nothing but giggles and laughs.  

These are the memories I will keep of Tyler in my heart.  He was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by many.  Rest in peace my friend.

I have been trying to come up with the best memory to commemorate on here and there is just so many that I can't choose. Our family has loved you since you were 3. We have lost a few years here and there but you were never far from my mind.  So grateful that you moved back to Texas and graced us with your smile, sense of humor and caring person we all loved! You were one of my adopted kids and loved when you called me your second momma♥️ My heart is broken with the thought of never seeing you again. I hope you are at peace and can eat all the cheeseburgers you want! The picture here is from our family taking Tyler to eat the biggest cheeseburger we could find for him for his 16th birthday! One of the memories I will forever cherish.


When we were kids, I remember being in his backyard one time and he dared me to pick up a big piece of cement. So I did, because we had to compete with who was the most stubborn. Well, I didn't have the strength to pick it up and it fell on my ankle and cut me. His mom had to patch me up in the kitchen. Tyler said "well, you picked it up though." And then laughed at me. You can still see the scar on my ankle, haha.

We lost touch when he moved to Washington State but I found him through MySpace while we were both in 8th grade, and he told me they were moving back to Texas. After his family got back to Texas, we hung out a lot. A few weeks after he moved back, a friend of mine also moved back to Texas from Colorado, so all three of us started hanging out. He ended up telling me one day that I turn into a mean, judgmental person when I'm around her, and he knew that wasn't who I was because I wasn't like that before she moved back. He was so blunt about it, and it really stayed with me. He helped me understand that I need to stay true to myself, and not be influenced by the people around me. 

Cut to a few years ago when we had lunch at Jason's Deli. He was going through a rough time and needed support. We spent a lot of time talking about what was going on with him, but he still made time to tell me how happy he was for me getting engaged, and how he always wants the best for me.

I have so many more memories than that, like him teaching me Smoke on the Water on his guitar and being so patient with me struggling with such a simple song.

That was Tyler. He always looked out for the people he cared about, to the point of being blunt sometimes. He had a great laugh, one I will never forget. And he was such a jokester. 

He always wanted to be a hero, and he was a hero. Not just with the military, but with the people he cared about as well. He made an impact in so many people's lives, as you can see on this page alone.

I remember Tyler as a little boy. I remembered what a cute and sweet boy he was and he grew into a handsome young man. Mike and Normarie you both should be so proud of the young man you raised. He was a blessing and God has taken Tyler under his wing and now he will be all of your guardian angels now. He will watch over his children and the rest of his family. God Bless you all. I met Tyler freshman year of highschool in 2008.   We were in an English class together and I thought he was the most hilarious & witty guy ever.  From there we became friends and really began to connect over music. Tyler was an incredible guitarist and overall musician, and was able to inspire me to learn music theory and start playing piano. For the next few years, Tyler was one of my main music buddies. He would bring his guitar over to my house with some other friends and we would play music in my garage for hours. The neighbors were not pleased, but who cares! As I continued to play the keyboard, I played with other guitarists & musicians, and Tyler was by far my favorite guy to play with. We had very similar tastes in style & could always stay in rhythm with each other even while improvising the entire time. Aside from music, I can remember the countless times we would wander around Kingwood sweating in the heat up to no good. I reconnected with Tyler early 2020 during the initial COVID outbreak through a social media platform centered around gaming. It was a breath of fresh air to have Tyler in my life again during such odd times. The conversations we had and games we would play together were a blast, just like old times. Working long hours from isolation at home was a major adjustment for me, but Tyler’s gaming server brought some light to the situation. He was such a good conversationalist, I would often jump in just to say what’s up even if I wasn’t gaming myself. I believe that trait really defined Tyler as an individual who values others & makes strong contributions to friendship. Tyler will always have a special place in my life & he will be missed deeply. 

I served with Zipp in 4-17 infantry. Never have I seen a man so small dive head first into an enormous dog pile. He was always drug out by somebody bigger but it was the fight that impressed me most.  He was a capable soldier who knew his job and knew it well. And he always let you know that he knew it. Unfortunately, we bonded over the passing of another soldier while in service but the friendship that grew out of that situation was certainly bittersweet.  Zipp, I’ll raise a glass to you. I’ll see ya on the other side brother. 

I met Tyler when we were in middle school and we kept in touch over the years. Zippy was one of a kind and truly a lifeline for me when we were in school. He was funny as hell and he treated everyone with the same level of respect and kindness. He could make friends with anyone and he knew how to pull everyone together for a laugh. He was a loyal friend. I knew no one would mess with me because Zippy and the boys would step up. I'll miss our check-ins and seeing his silly memes on my timeline.  We already miss you Tyler. Sending lots of love and prayers to the Zipperer family <3 

Zip was one of my greatest friends, one of those ones you didn't need to talk to every day if you couldn't. He'd check up on me if he hadn't heard from me recently enough just to make sure I was doing alright and didn't need him to beat anyone up for me 😂 

I met Zippy through lunch in high school. He seemingly selected our table at random, I have a pretty rusty memory of who all sat with us, but I believe it was Renee Daniel, Kelby Ricks, Anna Phillips, and maybe a few other rotating people. It started off as who the hell is this guy who brought him here. He just joined into the conversations and asked for leftovers, and eventually just became part of the lunch fam. 

There were a few times in high school I was down and out for one reason or another, and he always offered help from him or the family. I'll never forget his neverending kindness towards me.

I have a few silly memories of him I think about a lot, even before his passing, as he was quite the comedian.

One was the day he and David Thompson decided they'd stick their hands in an ant pile and see who withdrew first. Obviously we know which one was stubborn enough to stick it out (Tyler duh)

Another was a time my lonely ass called a group of friends over to keep me company while I cleaned my mom's apartment. My mom had left a margarita in the sink overnight and Zip coaxed us into daring him to drink it. 

I remember how much he wanted to be in the military all through high school. He wanted so much to share in the family pride in serving his country. Of course Tyler was also looking forward to explosions and guns, typical young-adult guy things I guess. 

I saw him in May, and we chatted a few times after, but I really wish I had known it was the last time I'd see him. We brought him a 6 pack and he dozed off on Carlos and I so we left. 😞 

Love you Zip, miss you forever. Hope to see you again one day. 💕 Rest Easy big bro.

Tyler was one of the most incredible people I had ever met. I met him through mutual enjoyment of playing guitar but it quickly turned into something far more special. Tyler knew that everybody had tremendous worth and he brought it out of everyone he associated with. He lit up every room he would walk into and left an amazing impression on everyone who witnessed him. He was hilarious, energetic, and a sweet, thoughtful man and his positive attitude was infectious. 

There are so many great memories with him, his brothers, and his parents that I will never forget and I will continue to share and brag about to nearly everyone I meet. I consider myself lucky to have known him as well as I got to, and last time I got to see him in January was one of the happiest days in recent memory. 

I'm really missing you Tyler, and I'll never stop loving you. Until next time. 

Tyler has always been my best friend/brother ever since the day we were born. He always knew how to fill a room with laughter, and brighten the room no matter where he went. We had so many laughs together, cries, and a lifetime full of memories that I am so honored to take with me for the rest of my time here. My heart is so broken right now, but I know I will see him again one day. I love you and until I see you again my brother! Fly high in Heaven!

Tyler was my best friend for many years. We had a lot of fun and he never backed down from any challenge life threw at him. He was funny, kind, and even when things went badly for him, he would keep on pushing and never let it show. He was a lake ridge legend, the metal master, and someone who really had an impact on my life. I'll never forget you buddy, had a blast when you stayed at my house when you visited washington. Thank you for your service. Love you man!

Tyler was one of my very first friends after starting public school at lake ridge middle school. The memories I have at his house with him, his brothers, my brother, Ryan, and his parents are probably some of the best memories I will carry through the rest of my life. After her moved back to Texas I had seen him for a couple weeks while he visited Washington. He told us about this great girl he was seeing who was unlike anyone he's met before. He stayed a while longer than intended in order to join the army as early as possible (Washington was more lenient and easier to get in than Texas was). He was determined to join the Army and defend our country as soon as he could. The next time I saw him was to visit him at his wedding where he married that special girl he had told us about. He had gone to war after than and I lost touch with him for a year or so until recently. We dreamed about the future when Ryan and his wife would move nearby to Louisiana and I would move to Texas and we could all be. close again. I've spoken to him almost every day in the last few months. Talking to you was often the best  part of my day. I fear that he didn't know how much we all thought of him. I will sorely miss you my friend and I will long for the day I meet you again in heaven


I coached Tyler as an 8th grader at Lakeridge Middle School.

He had never wrestled before, but I immediately saw his potential.

He went undefeated for the season, beating kids who had wrestled in club programs.

What he accomplished was unheard of, and I still talk about him to the kids I coach.  

He was also an extremely likable and funny kid.  I have coached at LMS for 16 years and Tyler Zipperer was truly one of a kind.  I loved that kid and I will never forget him.

He was special in a lot of ways.

I met Tyler back in Fort Benning, he was one of the first friends I had made immediately.  Tyler had a tremendously big heart, and always pushed others to test and push past their limits only for them to get better.  Until Valhalla old friend.

I meet Tyler when I first started working for tdcj. We shared many laughs. I never seen him upset or in a bad mood. He was the life of the party no matter what. When I got promoted he told me how happy he was someone who deserved it finally got it. I will always remember the good times.
