An extremely intelligent young man, Trevor could accomplish anything he set his mind to accomplish. When he decided to join the military and took the ASVAB test, he scored a 95 out of a possible 99. The average score for a high school graduate is 35.
Specialist (SPC) Trevor Smith was an Infantry Soldier in the United States Army. He entered active duty service in September 2013, and he attended Basic Training and Advanced Infantry Training at Fort Benning, GA. In February of 2014, he came to Fort Carson, CO where he became a member of D Company, 1-12 Infantry, 4-4IDd, serving as an Infantryman and Gunner. SPC Trevor Smith is an Afghanistan Combat Veteran (Kandahar) serving in that conflict from March through September of 2014. SPC Smith's awards and decorations include the Combat Infantry Badge, the Afghanistan Campaign Star, two Army Commendation Medals, the NATO Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the National Defense Medal.
Trevor was preceded in death by his cousin, Stori Nicole Bethune; grandmothers Mrs. Judy Smith and Mrs. Rosa Dixon. He is survived by his parents Ronald (Bud) Smith and Gale Smith, his sister Mercedes (Sadie) Smith, his brother Chance Jo Smith-Tuma, his wife Brianna Reese, and son Elijah James. Trevor also leaves his paternal grandfathers James Smith and Bill Dixon. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral arrangements will be handled by American Heritage Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. The funeral will be held on Monday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. at American Heritage Funeral Home.
