TRACY LYNN RYAN SYMMANK born July 25, 1968, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Tracy was a lifelong resident of the Houston Heights. She graduated from Waltrip High School (’86) before following her culinary dreams to the Art Institute of Houston. After working as sous chef in a number of local restaurants, she most recently managed the Ragin’ Cajun downtown. In addition to caring for her husband and son, Tracy was a passionate advocate for Aspergers Awareness and other Autism related causes and a ‘lifetime’ volunteer with M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Children’s Art Project. Tracy enjoyed many activities, including Tae Kwon Do, in which she proudly achieved her 2nd degree black belt. Tracy will forever be remembered for her constant smile and ability to make everyone she met feel like family. Tracy was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Elizabeth Ryan, and Robert Michael Ryan, and is survived by her loving husband of 25 years Christopher Symmank, their son Jonathan Christopher Symmank, her siblings and their spouses including Frances and Gordon Scott, Nancy and Mark Hinterlang, Mark and Amy Ryan, Kathy Ryan, Cailyn and Henry Bevier and Erin Ryan, her in-laws Clarence and Mildred Symmank, Allan and Colleen Symmank, Keith Symmank, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 9, 2014, 5pm – 8pm at the Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled for Monday, 10am at Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Heights Funeral Home, Houston, TX.
