Timothy John Richardson

Timothy John Richardson was born September 2, 1953 to Philippa and John Richardson near London, England. He passed away in Houston, Texas on Thursday, November 15, 2012, after a year-long battle with cancer. Tim was preceded in death by his father John and his Uncle Humphrey Hinshelwood. He is survived by his wife Jeri, stepchildren Monica and Carlos, 10 grandchildren, mother Philippa, sister Paula, niece Heather and two great nieces, “Aunt” Lizzie, cousins Amanda and Angus and extended family and friends around the world. Tim was known to his friends and family as a kind, gentle, caring, funny and brilliant man. Tim was raised in England and attended Repton School in South Derbyshire. He received his M.A., Natural Sciences (Geology) from Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge in 1975. After working in France for a couple of years, Tim embarked on a 30+ year career in the petrochemical industry, including consulting, trading, brokering and recruiting. On August 2, 1981, Tim landed at DFW airport for what he thought would be just the next stop on a career path that would take him all over the world. His idea was that he would stick around in the USA for about 7 years. One's plans are so easily derailed, as Tim would say, but he had no regrets having spent over half of his life in Texas. He made lifelong friends here, and of course met his beautiful wife, Jeri. Tim had a lot of fun at both work and play. He was a happy man and was loved by all. The world is a much less interesting place without him. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at Patrenella’s in the Heights (Corleone Bar & Grill) on Sunday November 25 from 1:00-4:00 pm.
