Thomas Sheppard

Thomas Griffin Sheppard, 76, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in Cypress,Texas. Thomas, the son of Thomas Gilmer Sheppard and Gladys Bell Sheppard, was born on December 5, 1939 in Blooming Grove, Texas.

Thomas was a member of the 1958 Blooming Grove High School graduating class. He then attended Stephen F. Austin University. In 1975, he married Mazelle Pyle. He and "Mazie" shared 31 happy years together before her death in 2006.

Thomas is survived by one sister, Wanda Jean Sheppard Hinkle, of Cypress, TX. Other relatives include, two Nieces, Catherine Hinkle Ward, of Cypress, TX, Janie Hinkle Hatley and husband, Tony Hatley, of Friendswood, TX. Surviving are 1 great-niece, Christie Ward Schultz and husband, Christopher Schultz, of Houston, TX; Zane Ward and wife, Sandra Ward, of Mexia, TX; Micah Hatley and wife, Erin Hatley, of Victoria, TX, Jessie Hatley and wife, Sarah Hatley, Alvin, TX. Four great-great nieces and 3 great-great nephews.

Services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston, TX., Monday, April 4, 2016. Visitation 11:00-1:00, graveside service at 1:30 p.m.
