Our Lord and Savior called home Thomas “Tommie” Edward Martin, he passed away on June 24, 2016. Born, on October 24, 1942 to Charles Hubert Martin and Tassie Lorraine Mullican in Houston, Texas Tommie attended C.E King High School in the Sheldon area of Houston, Texas. Later meeting the love of his life a young woman from Mississippi named Patsy which became his wife for 53 years. Between the two they had two sons, Wade Martin and Charles “Rusty” Martin.
Thomas became a self- taught civil engineer, and his love for restoring engines, motorcycles and of course water skiing kept him busy in his pass time. He and Patsy also traveled a lot to various places in the country. He also loved playing his guitar, folk and country music were his favorites.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Tassie Martin, and sister Norma Aleen Baker. Thomas, leaves to cherish his memory his wife Patsy, his sons Wade and Rusty and grandson Thomas Bradley Martin; brother, James E. Martin Sr. (Donna Lyon), sister Jean Martin Wright, nieces and nephews; Michelle Wright Talbot, David Baker, Delores Baker Zogg, James Martin Jr., Dorsille Martin Morsy and his close childhood friends; Robert Parker, Ricky Rice, Edward Antill(deceased), Frank Cramer, Norman L.Davis and Grady Jackson Sr.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Brookside Funeral Home for a Memorial Service at 12 pm.
