Lt. Colonel Thomas R. Fox “Paw Paw” was born March 14, 1926 in Dallas Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry (“Me Maw”) and his two sisters, Thelma Durbin and Ethel Height. He is survived by his son, Danny Fox and wife, Sissie, daughter Melody Olsovsky and husband, Anthony; grandchildren Danelle, Larissa, Rachel, Thomas, Savanna and Heather; and nine great grandchildren.
Tom joined the Navy and married the love of life on Dec 24th, 1942 at the young age of 16. After serving five years in the Navy he joined the Air Force and became a pilot for the next 26 years. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and the Viet Nam wars, He logged over 18000 hours of flight in his career. After retiring he went into business with his son at Fox Fast Print. He also spent many years volunteering at SW Memorial hospital that amounted in over 7500 hours of volunteer time.
His passions were family, flying, fishing and hunting. In his later years he poured himself into serving his grandchildren and supported them in any way he could, always on the sidelines rooting them on.
He wore many ranks over the years but the one he treasured most was that of Paw Paw. He was any child’s best friend. He was a man impossible not to like and made friends wherever he went.
