A lifelong Houston resident, Mr. Cody attended River Oaks Elementary, Lanier Junior High, and graduated from Lamar High School in 1941.
He served in World War II in India as a meteorologist for the U.S. Army. Upon his return, he attended the University of Texas, where he graduated with a law degree in 1950. He served as an associate city attorney for the City of Houston for 30 years and was a member of the Texas State Bar for more than 60 years. He enjoyed a perfect attendance record in Kiwanis Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Judge and Mrs. T. H. Cody; brothers, Dr. Claude C. Cody III and Dr. Melville L. Cody; and sister-in-law, Barbara Cody Greenwood. Mr. Cody is survived by his sister, Anne Cody Nold; sister-in-law, Muriel Cody; nieces, Muffet M. Bond, Molly M. Remes, Carol Herder, Ann Joyce, and Louise Cody; and nephews, Claude C. Cody IV and Melville L. Cody, Jr.
