She was preceded in death and has now been reunited with her beloved husband, Charles (Charlie); her parents John and Mary Kennedy; and her two brothers John and Charles Kennedy.
Following graduation from high school, Theresa worked in New York City as a Billing Clerk. She married Charlie in August 1953, moved to Long Island (Wantagh), and became a full-time homemaker. Together, they raised their four children. The family moved to Texas in 1970, as Charlie’s employer, Shell Oil, moved their headquarters from Manhattan to Houston. Theresa never learned to drive in New York City, as she was accustomed to taking the train, bus or subway. After moving to Houston, she decided Houston freeways were more than she wanted to tackle. Theresa lived life very simply. She took care of her family, her home, and loved her sports - especially baseball. She also loved her Soap Operas, as well as Hallmark and Lifetime Channels. She was an active parishioner at St. Jerome and later St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Churches, until she no longer could. She loved to take short trips to Fredericksburg, New Orleans, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, but New Orleans, was by far her favorite city to visit. She was always cheerful, had a smile and a kind word for everyone, and never complained about anything. She always put others above herself, and always asked what she could do to assist them, even in her final days.
Theresa is survived by her four children: Anne (Robert) Halick of Katy, TX; Robert (Fran) Hamilton, of Pinehurst, TX; Thomas (Elizabeth) Hamilton of Houston, TX; Edward Hamilton of Houston, TX; her four grandchildren: Matthew Halick of Houston, TX; Ryan (Chelsea) Hamilton of Cypress, TX; Melissa Halick of Durango, CO; and Erin Hamilton (Chris) of Spring, TX; and two great grandchildren: Haylee and Brady Hamilton of Cypress, TX.
