Mrs. Thelma Austin Barnett passed away July 30, 2011 at the age of 96. She was born in Buckhorn, Texas on March 12, 1915 to Mr. Frank Monroe Austin and Mrs. Dovie Smith Austin. She married Edward C. Barnett on August 12, 1933 and were married 70 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward C. Barnett and grand-daughter Lisa Evans.
She is survived by her son Ed Barnett Jr., and wife Bonnie, Grand-daughter Stephanie Barnett and fiancé Jesse Hernandez, Great-grandsons Nicholas and Wesley Evans. Niece Marilyn George and husband Dick, their children and grand-children.
Thelma worked in retail for many years before retiring from Montgomery Wards as a Department Supervisor. Thelma’s ability to provide great country cooking throughout her life will be greatly missed, along with her love for her family.
