Terrie E. Straughan

Terrie Elliot Straughan was born in Texarkana, Texas on December 22, 1928 and went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2024 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 24 years, Ben Straughan, son, Michael Edwin Crawford, Sr. and wife Patti Jean Crawford, grandson Michael Edwin Crawford, Jr. and sister Ouida Gardner. Terrie is survived by her son Patrick James Crawford and wife Jan. Daughter Shelley McMullen and husband Joe and stepson Darrin Straughan and wife Sue. Grandchildren Angie Jones and husband Jason, Denise Mills and husband Ryan, Jacob Straughan and wife Shannon, Sarah Straughan and Sam Straughan and wife Kaitlin. Great Grandchildren Lauren Jones, Dorian Jones and wife Logan, Jacob Smelley, Tiffany DePaolo and Kirsten Crawford. Great Great Grandchildren Joseph Crawford, Emilia DePaolo, Opal Guyton and Bane Straughan.

Terrie was an avid member of Tallowood Baptist Church. She was also active in many organizations such as: Cancer Fighters of Houston, The Cancer League, Women's Club of Houston, Memorial Women's Club, Delta Beta Sorority, Magic Circle, The Women's Home, Window of Opportunity, and MFAH Guild. Over the years she received many awards such as Volunteer of the Year from the Mayor's Award and the All American Award from Cancer Fighters.

Terrie loved her family, friends and her church! She thanks the Joshua Class for their loving kindness.

A memorial service for Terrie will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Tallowood Baptist Church, 555 Tallowood Rd, Houston, TX 77024, followed by a reception from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
