Teresa Martinez

Teresa Martinez was born December 15, 1954 in Marin, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She was an amazing woman who's smile lit up any room and always lifted spirits. She dedicated her life to helping others, even through her physical ailments. She worked with children and adults, tutoring and teaching English for many years. The family was told early on that Teresa would not live a long life, but she overcame. She lived a full, eventful life, defying many odds. She finally got to leave this earth to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

Teresa is preceded in death by her father Florencio Gonzalez and brother Jose Gonzalez. Survived by her loving daughter, Ana Alicia Martinez; mother, Maria Elena Gonzalez; sister, Rose Mary Rangel and husband Larry Beien; brothers, Leonardo Gonzalez and Tomas Gonzalez: nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by Celebration of Life, which will be held at the Forest Park Lawndale Chapel at 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Please note: Due to the current COVID 19 epidemic, service will be limited to 50 people. Please wear protective face masks while attending services. The funeral home and cemetery are not accessible from Wayside due to construction of the Lawndale bridge. The bridge is closed. Please find an alternative route to the entrance of the premises.
