Teresa Gay Durbin, 51, went to Heaven after a 6 year battle with COPD on April 25, 2015. She was born in Jacinto City, Texas on October 23, 1963 to John Ruben McKithern and the late Alma Joyce McKithern. She married Jerry Durbin on December 23, 1978. Jerry and Teresa were married for 36 years and created a beautiful family together. Teresa was preceded by her oldest son, Jerry Micheal Durbin Jr. and survived by his wife, Janelle Durbin; and survived by 4 children and their spouses; Candice Bermudez and Juan Carlos Bermudez; April Westerman and Christopher Westerman; Amy Stroud and Shane Stroud; Cory Durbin; and stepdaughter and spouse, Kayla Bridges and Jason Bridges. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Hayley Durbin, Karlee Taylor, Kameron Taylor, Alyssa Durbin, Austin Durbin, Drake Westerman, Kadence Westerman, Kash Bridges, Aiden Bermudez, Tyler Stroud, and Gabriela Bermudez. Teresa was a very loving and caring person. She lit up every room she was in with her positive attitude and beautiful smile. She dedicated her life to her family and raising her children. She would do anything for anyone and always put others before herself. Having five children, she had many jobs including being a mother, teacher, stylist, therapist, preacher, doctor, musician, seamstress, and a best friend. Teresa gained so much love and respect from everyone she met. She liked reading books, playing games, trying new recipes, and spending time with her family.
The visitation will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Funeral arrangements will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015. All services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home.
