Tanya Semien Williams, 53, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 26, 2023, in Houston, Texas.
Tanya was born in Los Angeles, California to John Semien and Barbara Cantrell Cockrell on October 25, 1969. The family relocated to Richmond, Ca and she graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1987. In 1988, Tanya joined the United States Air Force where she served as a munition specialist. She married Randall Williams in 1994 and they settled in Bossier City, Louisiana. Tanya relocated to Houston in 2002 to attend law school and worked in the Airforce Reserves as a paralegal. She retired from the Airforce Reserves in 2014.
Tanya was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Williams.
Tanya is survived by her father, John Semien Sr., her mother Barbara Cockrell (Wayne), mother-in-law Sandra Williams Armstrong, brothers John (Arbuy), and Michael Semien (Floria), Arthur Campbell, Patrick Polk (Amber), sister Sandra Scarborough, and brothers-in-laws Quinton and Edward Williams and sister-in-law Atiya Williams Shaw. Eleven Godchildren that she cherished: Christopher L. Flowers, Cedrick Stubblefield Jr., Kyle Stubblefield, Shawn Stubblefield, Kierra Evans, Gavin Heinz, DeVonte Bellamy, Michaela Bradley-Abdelah, Isiah Jones, Zariya Shepherd and Brianna Hillsman and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family of Tanya Semien Williams wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Hospital, Vitas Hospice care, members of Fallbrook Church and all of Tanya’s friends and family.
