Susan Jane Berry

Susan Jane Berry, 63, of Houston, Texas, died July 16, 2016. A second-generation native Houstonian, Susan was born on December 5, 1952. She was the fifth of six children of Joel (Hal) Berry, Jr., and Geraldine (Jerry) Harrington Berry. She was a life-long member of South Main Baptist Church and a graduate of Lamar High School. Susan was pre-deceased by her parents; maternal grandparents, Herschel and Marie Harrington; paternal grandparents, Joel and Fay Berry; and uncle, Lloyd Eason Berry. She is survived by her siblings: Jerry Ann Berry, Mary Elizabeth Berry Whistler, Joel and Linda Mayo Berry, Herschel Harrington Berry, and Douglas Kent Berry. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and their spouses: Lara Berry Landmesser and Freddy Warner, Jay and Kristin Berry, Kelly Whistler, Terrilyn Whistler and Anthony Garwick, Hudson Berry, Eva Berry, and Eoin Berry. She is also survived by six grand nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in Westmoreland Chapel of South Main Baptist Church, 4100 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77002. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Susan’s name to South Main Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
