Suey Ping (Rose) Eng, 84, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 16, 2017. She was born in Canton, China on June 14, 1933. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kong, youngest daughter, Peggy, and brother, Soon Lim. She is survived by daughters Betty and her husband Chris Lim; Nancy and her husband Paul Liu; Mary Ann and her husband Larry Lee; grandchildren: Esther and her husband Drew Schad, Shari and her husband Faheem Ali, Matthew Lim and his wife Tiffany, Jonathan and Michelle Lee, Kristina and Caroline Liu; great-granddaughters: Lydia, Kaitlyn, and Ellie Schad; Madeline and Isabella Lim; and sisters Josephine and her husband Eddie Choy and Mabel and her husband Eric Yang.
Suey Ping Lim arrived in the United States by plane in 1949. She met the love of her life and married Kong Yuen Eng. They settled in Houston, Texas and were married for 64 years. Suey Ping was the backbone of her family. She took care of the housework, cooking, mothering, teaching, store business, finances and more. Along with Kong, Suey Ping worked hard at their grocery store for many years. After retiring, the two would enjoy some traveling with friends, bowling in a senior league, and spending time with their growing family. She enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and Houston Rockets basketball. She was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Grace Chapel. Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Friday, September 22, from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 10 am. Both will be held in Chapel of Angels at Forest Park Lawndale. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Chapel, 1055 Bingle Road, Houston, TX 77055.
