Steven “Steve” Michael King died unexpectedly in his home on August 18, 2015 in Houston, TX at the age of 55. Steve is survived by his parents, Carroll Jerome “Jerry” King and Virginia Elizabeth Mueth King of St. Louis Missouri, wife Lilian Timm-King, children Chance and Grant King, step-children Ashley Harper and Nathan Timm, sisters Kathy Errante, Sue Brown and husband Jonathan, Lisa Dundon and husband Brian, Carroll Brcic and husband Mark, Karen Robben and husband John, grandchildren Kingston, Kayden and Jameson Harper; along with many nieces and nephews in St. Louis. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Henry and Myrtle Mueth and his paternal grandparents Pearl and Hardin (“Smitty”) Smith, and Cameron J. King.
Steve was born on June 2nd, 1960 in Richmond Heights, Missouri to Jerry & Virginia. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1982 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. On August 21st 2004, Steve married the woman who would prove to be the true love of his life, Maria Lilian Beamon. Steve and Lilian lived a life of love and fun sharing their interests of travel and enjoying time with their friends, children, grandchildren, and their beloved dogs. This Friday would have been Steve and Lilian’s 11th wedding anniversary.
Twenty-seven years ago, on March 16th 1988, Steve began working for WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff as Manager of Business Development. He was a hard worker who enjoyed the fast pace and change of the many mergers and acquisitions that were inevitable in his line of work.
Steve’s proudest achievement was his two sons Chance and Grant, and he loved Lilian’s children as if they were his own. He was a proud and devoted father to Chance and Grant, and always encouraged them to pursue their goals. Steve also had a deeply affectionate bond with his little poodles Bella, Brandi and Clyde and was happiest when he was surrounded by them in his favorite chair watching funny shows like MTV’s Ridiculousness or the political commentary of Bill O’Reilly. He was a generous and witty individual who loved his family. He was a great man, a loving husband, an amazing father, a caring son, a loving brother and uncle, a doting grandfather and a fierce friend. He will be missed by all of us.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 21st, 2015 at 10:00 am at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 11:00 am, and a graveside service immediately thereafter. Brian Bowen will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve's life.
