He is preceeded in death by his father, John, and his brother, Jeffery Thompson. Steve will be greatly missed by his wife, Kimberly Dawn Thompson; his mother, Paulette Thompson; his daughter, Kelly Butler and husband, Kyle Butler; granddaughter: Arden Butler; his son, Chadd Thompson; his three brothers: Michael, David and Paul Thompson, and his sister-in-law, Carol Thompson. He had four nieces and two nephews: Sarah Miller, Jennifer Vought, Katie Laurendeau, Rachel Thompson, Andrew Thompson and Johnathan Thompson; and an adopted grandson, Boston Bachand.
Steve started practicing law at Bracewell & Patterson in 1991 to 1995. Steve then went to Liddell, Sapp, Zively, Hill & LaBoon from 1995 to 1997. Steve started private practice in 1997 and formed Steve E. Thompson & Associates where he remained until his passing.
As a hobby, Steve loved following the players of the Texas A & M football team. He was an Aggie through and through.
Steve served on the Board of Directors at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center located at 4501 Woodway Drive in Houston, Texas. He enjoyed nature and walking Buffalo Bayou, the arboretum and Memorial Park with his beloved friend, a Jack Russell Terrior named Tooter.
Steve was a loyal and loving: husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and Funeral Service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. Steve will be laid to rest at Glenwood Cemetery, 2525 Washington Avenue, Houston, Texas immediately following the Funeral Service.
