Stella Rose Hecker, 91, passed away January 12, 2016 at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Katy, Texas. Stella was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, but was raised and attended school in Norfolk, Virginia. Stella worked as a head banker and a manager of a custom drapery and slipcover store. She was an excellent seamstress who made children’s clothing, custom draperies, slipcovers and upholstery.
Stella is preceded in death by her son Steven Val Garrett. Stella is survived by her husband of 41 years, Henry Hecker, 3 sons, 1 daughter, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Stella was a member of the Methodist Church where she served as a greeter and youth counselor.
