It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sidney Albert Sinclair on Monday, August 17, 2020, at his home in Cypress, Texas at the age of 78. Sidney was born on April 09, 1942, to now deceased parents Sydney Albert Sinclair and Ernestina Ibañez in Provincia de Colón, Panama.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norma Helena Sinclair (née DaCosta), daughter Marcia Del Carmen Sinclair, sons Duane Eric Sinclair and Mark Owen Sinclair (wife Gabriela Ortega Sinclair); grandchildren Gabriela Christiane Sinclair, Marcos Gabriel Sinclair, Sofia Madalyn Sinclair, Cristian Marco Sinclair, Lilliana Zoe Sinclair. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Marjorie Laurine Waldron and Arline Dosman; brothers Aurelio Vicente Anderson and Orlando Lorenzo Anderson, as well as many cousins, relatives, and friends around the world. Sidney is predeceased by his brother Luis Arturo Lumpris and sister Virginia Luisa Linton.
Sidney joined the United States Air Force in 1966 and served proudly for 23 years before retiring. In 1969 he was stationed at the Tan Son Nhut Air Force Base in Vietnam. He was always immaculate, statuesque, and proud while wearing his uniform. In 1986 he was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal, a distinction that is authorized by Executive Order by the President of the United States. He worked another 10 years for Chrysler before retiring permanently in Dover, Delaware.
Sidney spoke three languages fluently and was a world traveler. He relished the opportunity to speak Italian when the opportunity arose. Due to his military training as a civil engineer, he was great at fixing things and loved to do so. He was an avid racquetball and chess player using his keen intellect to his advantage. He had a sweet tooth and always took great pleasure having a sit-down dinner with family and friends. Sidney was a Catholic, attended church regularly and was lovingly devoted to his family.
The funeral service will be held on August 31, 2020, at 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Central Time, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 pm – 2:00 pm. Specific details can be found at dignitymemorial.com.
