Shirley Elizabeth (Martin ) Cox was born in Grayson, TX to James and Minnie Martin on January 26, 1928. She was called home to be with her Lord an Savior Jesus Christ on November 27, 2020. Shirley was a member of Westbury Baptist Church and the past President of the Houston Assembly of Delphian Chapters. She loved sharing her musical talents with others and cherished her role as grandmother and great grandmother which was evident to all who knew her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and husband Wilburn "Bill" Ford; her brothers Carl, Cecil, Aubrey, Marlon, Chester, Marion and Doyle Martin; and her sister Lucile Jamison. She is survived by her sisters Reba June Ringness of Dallas, TX and Mary Ruth (Robert) McKinney of Liberty, TX; her daughter Bettye Virginia "Ginger" Gomez of Lake Charles, LA; granddaughters Michelle (Glenn) Fuoco of Tampa FL and Kelly (Ernie) Langley of Westlake, LA; and great grandchild John Fuoco and Kaleigh, Kade, and Kaycie Langley. Shirley will surely be missed.
