Shelton Gee

Shelton Gee passed away on October 26, 2024 at the age of 89. He was born in China to Wing Choy and Nguey Ying Gee on December 16, 1934. At the age of 16, he immigrated to the United States to join his father in Texas. After serving in the U.S. Army, he married Helen (So Kam) Ng in Hong Kong in 1962. They settled in Houston, where they raised a family and owned and operated Sun Yick Food Store. After 55 years of marriage, Helen preceded him in death in 2018.

Shelton is survived by his daughter Sharon and her husband Julian Edwards; son Andy and his wife Cindy; grandchildren Natalie, Bradley and Emilie Gee; sister Lillian and her husband Peter Kaufman; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family.

Visitation and viewing will be on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 5 to 8 P.M. The service will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10 A.M. Both visitation and service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
