She was born to Charlie and Mary Youngblood on May 6, 1956 in Houston, TX. She grew up with a large family, including two sisters and two brothers, and many friends. Later, in 1974, she would graduate from Aldine High School. Soon after, Sharon entered the workforce and began pursuing a career with DHL Airways where she made many other lifelong friendships. Ultimately, Sharon would retire from DHL Airways in 2008 after many years of dedicated service.
Sharon was married to Robert G. Skidmore, Sr. for over 40 years. They had one child, Robert G. Skidmore, Jr., who would later marry Lisa Button-Skidmore and have two children, Cayden and Cameron. Sharon was extremely close with her family members and passed down her sense of humor. The family had many fun times and made countless memories throughout the years, especially in recent years as she would take her family on vacation, usually involving a casino of some sort.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Skidmore, her son and his wife, Robert and Lisa Skidmore, their children, Cayden and Cameron, her mother Mary Youngblood, her brother and his wife, David and Shirley Youngblood, her sister and her husband, Janis and Ernie Reams, her other sister, Debbie Worsham, and her younger brother and his wife, Charles and Claire Youngblood.
A visitation for Sharon will be held for all on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 12:15 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal/burial service for family will occur Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Liver Foundation in Sharon’s name.
