Sharon (Dunn) Reel

Sharon Reel of Cypress, Texas completed her journey in this life on August 25, 2023, following a lengthy illness. Born in Haileyville, Oklahoma, Sharon called many places home, including North Carolina, Texas, California, and Pennsylvania. She had an incredible passion for life, always ready for adventure. Her many roles included homemaker, volunteer, keypunch operator, secretary, administrative assistant, and realtor, although her most cherished titles were mom, grandma, and gigi (great grandma). Sharon loved to spend time with family, travel, and thoroughly enjoyed a competitive game of cards. After retiring, she and her husband Ken explored the USA and Canada in their RV.

Sharon was preceded in death by father Adolphus Dunn, mother Martha Dunn, sister Palastine Dunn, brother Victor Dunn, sister Elgin Smith, sister Grace Joiner, brother RJ Dunn, and husband Ken Reel. She is survived by son David Homb of Cypress, daughter Christie Rooney of Tulsa (husband Joe), daughter Nancy Homb of Arlington, grandson Jeff Rooney of Aliso Viejo (wife Ella) and great-grandchildren Liam and Nora, brother Virgil Dunn of Tomball (wife Virginia), brother Adrain Dunn of Big Sandy, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Sharon will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston TX on Thursday August 31st between 5-8:00 pm with services on Friday, September 1st at 2:30 pm at Memorial Oaks Texas Liberty Mausoleum Chapel.
