Sharon Lynn (Sapp) Parker (age 54) of Deer Park, went home to be with Jesus on March 17, 2011 after suffering from a massive heart attack. She was born in Tampa, Florida and moved to Texas as a teenager where she spent the rest of her time on earth living. She was an amazing wife, daughter, mother, friend, and would have soon been a wonderful Nana-mama to her first grandson in a few weeks. She always took others in as her own family and did everything that she could possibly do to provide and love on them. She truly had a heart for serving and pouring into others as God called us to do. She was a woman of true integrity, strong work ethic, a mentor, and a truly talented flutist and singer. She spent 38 years as a faithful member of Southmore Church of God/Parkgate Community Church in Pasadena, Texas, worked at Place…of Wellness at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for almost 13 years, and spent much of her free time during the past 18 years singing and dancing with Houston Choral Showcase as well as other music groups.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Nealon Parker of Deer Park, TX, mother, Marlene Sapp of LaPorte, TX, father and step-mother, Kelly and Virginia Sapp of Tampa Florida, children, Ryan and Brandi (Cox) Brumley of Deer Park, TX, children & grandson, Scott and Cristi (Cox) Smith (and baby Elijah) of Olathe, Kansas, sisters, Susan, Darlene, and Christina and their families of Tampa, Florida, as well as many other family members and friends.
A come and go memorial gathering will be held Monday, March 21 at Parkgate Community Church (3715 Preston Ave Pasadena, TX 77505) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Sharon’s life will be on Tuesday, March 22 at Parkgate Community Church at 10:30 a.m. The family is asking for donations to help with funeral and medical expenses in lieu of flowers.
