Sharon Ann Cox Kucera of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born on January 18, 1943, in Houston, Texas where she grew up as an only child of loving parents. She and her family were well-known in their community as they owned the local dry-cleaning business and were very active in their church.
Sharon graduated from Charles H. Milby High School in 1961 where she was a member of the National Honor Society and Future Teachers Association. She went on to attend Southern Methodist University where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority before graduating with her bachelor’s in education from the University of Houston with a special interest in Art.
She taught junior and senior high school English and Art classes and on several occasions was voted most favorite teacher by her students. She loved to paint and many of her beautiful art pieces hung on the walls of her and her family’s homes.
She had a love for all animals, especially dogs and horses, and owned several champion show horses throughout her life. She was known for never passing on an animal in need and ended up adopting the majority that she rescued.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wilmer V.S. Cox and Pauline Morris Cox.
She is survived by her son Dr. Kyle W. Kucera, his wife Diane Kucera, and their sons Bradley and Matthew Kucera as well as her daughter Dr. Kristine J Kucera.
