Sharon was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Meme, Great-grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend that will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Sharon graduated from Sam Houston High School, in 1956. After graduating she went to work for Southwestern Bell as a Long Distance Operator and Intercept. Then later she worked as a Preschool Teacher for many years. She loved God and her family. Sharon is at peace now and will no longer be hurting. She will be missed dearly, but we know she is with our Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Swan; parents, Joe Simmon Farmer and Lorine Zelma Farmer; sister, Judy Beatty; brothers, Joe Farmer and Larry Farmer.
Sharon is survived by her son, Terry Swan; daughter, Kim Swan Newberry and her husband Robert Newberry; grandchildren, Casey Rion Newberry, Megan Newberry Smith and her husband Nathan Smith; great-granddaughters, Maddie Smith and Macie Smith; her sister, Jorine Garner; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A visitation for Sharon will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 beginning at 1:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM in Brookside's Family Chapel. A graveside service with a dove release ceremony is scheduled to follow at 3:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
