He met his future wife, Frances P. Nguyen at Alief Hastings High School in the 9th grade. Shannon and Frances started becoming better friends their senior year and graduated together in 1992. They were high school sweethearts. Shannon went to college at the University of Missouri at Rolla (Missouri Science & Technology University) where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and graduated in 1997.
He and Frances were married on July 19, 1997 and had three beautiful children, Samantha, Ethan, and Cyrus. Shannon and Frances have a love for traveling and have taken their family to many countries. Their motto is “Adventure Awaits.”
Shannon worked as a Process Engineer for John Brown, Aker Kvaerner, and Worley (formerly Jacobs). He has had the opportunity to travel for work to Morocco, India, and Saudi Arabia.
Shannon was actively involved with the Boy Scouts. He served as the Scout Master of Troop 1116 out of Sugar Land. Shannon worked diligently with all three of his children to help them earn the highest rank in scouting with both of his sons earning Eagle Rank.
Shannon is survived by his wife Frances, his three children Samantha, Ethan, and Cyrus, his mom and dad, Vickie and Ronnie Walker of Georgetown, Texas, his sister and brother-in-law Kristen and Steve Michaelis and their children Isaac, Samuel, and Alina, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Lisa and Hai Lam, his sister-in-law and her husband, Linh Lam and Liem Nguyen and their kids Nathan and Darren Nguyen, and his brother-in-law Thi Lam. Shannon is also survived by a large loving family full of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation and reception for Shannon will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint Joseph's Orthodox Church, 10644 Hammerly Blvd., Houston, TX 77043. At 1:00 PM, a committal service will follow after at Forest Park Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077.
