Scott Alan James, 47, was born on November 28, 1970, in Jacksonville, Florida to Bobbie (Lominac) James and Morris Benjamin James, III. He passed away on June 2, 2018, at his mother's residence in Livingston, Texas. Scott graduated from Deer Park High School in Houston, Texas in 1988. He then attended a diving school and upon completion worked as an underwater diver for a while. Scott was self-employed.
A carefree spirit, Scott lived a fearless life, always up for a challenge. He was a Christian, someone with a huge heart, a people person and loved to make others smile. Scott found great joy in giving of his time and assistance to help others. He loved visiting nursing homes and talking to people he didn't even know just to make their day better. He embraced life to the fullest. Scott loved the outdoors, especially being around the water, whether it be fishing, camping or floating the river - he was an excellent swimmer. Scott was very talented and creative when it came to building things and took great pride upon completing any project that he would set out to accomplish.
Scott longed to belong and never met a stranger, He was not shy to introduce himself and strike up a conversation with anyone. He had a great love for people and wanted to be remembered as someone who left you with a smile, a person who was kind and caring, and a giver of himself. Scott had a great passionate love for his friends and family. The words 'I love you' were not uncommon to him and he made sure that everyone knew he loved them. He loved hugs. He loved to cook and grilling outside on the pit was his favorite. He had a green thumb and loved plants and flowers and taking care of his garden. He was also an animal lover.
Scott married his wife, Wanda Pasket, on January 3, 2013, in Caldwell, Texas. They resided in Anderson, Texas throughout their married life and loved travelling together. They would take occasional trips to the casino, the beach or a Nascar race. Scott was a die hard fan of Dale, Jr. #88, and a Houston sports fan whether it be the Astros, Rockets or Texans.
Scott is survived by his wife, Wanda Pasket James, of Anderson, TX; his mother, Bobbie (Lominac) Brod of Livingston, TX; his father, Morris (Jimmy) Benjamin James, or 'Old Man' as Scott referred to him, of Wimberley, TX; his grandmother, Lois Lominac of Wharton, TX; daughter, Rebekah Biehle, of Anderson, TX; sons, Johnathan Biehle, Brian Busse and Carl Busse, all of Anderson, TX; granddaughter, Everly Joy Busse, of Stoneham, TX; sisters, Nancy (Brod) and husband, Randy Wass of Brighton, CO; Teri (Brod) and Mike Penrose of Bourne, TX and Linda Brod of Canyon Lake, TX; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.
Scott is preceded in death by his son, Brandon Lee James; his step-father, Max Brod; his brother, Kyle Brod; maternal grandfather, Bob Lominac; and paternal grandparents, Morris B. James, Jr. and Lorena Colverson.
Family will be receiving friends on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas, 77023. Funeral Service for Scott will begin at 12:00 pm with the interment to follow in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
