Sarah Elizabeth Newton Menasco Richards passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017. Born March 7, 1932 to Mary and O.H. Newton, at 3 lbs she was the smallest preemie to survive in Dallas County for several decades to come, but Sarah, being a little fighter and born to a prayer warrior mother, was stronger than anyone expected. In her long life she was well loved by her parents and two brothers, O.H. and Earnest, as well as her own progeny and friends. Sarah was beyond intelligent, graduating high school and college early. She went on to teach and love thousands of children over her 36 year career. Sarah loved people and animals, responding with delight when in their presence, even in her last days. She raised her children with kindness as the prime directive. Above all, she loved the Lord and was ready to meet her Savior. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love and is survived by four children, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren who have been profoundly impacted by her life well lived.
