Sarah Earline Robinson King passed away in her sleep May 16, 2017 after a 4 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Known by most of her family and friends as Earline, she was born in Blakely, Georgia on June 6, 1930 to parents Luther and Dorothy Robinson. She moved to Houston to work after her High School graduation and built a career in accounting and bookkeeping with Exxon, Gulf Oil & Rice University. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a long-time member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where she served on the bereavement committee for many years as well as worked at the food pantry. She always enjoyed going to Curves in the Oak Forest area to exercise but especially to visit with all her friends there. She was outgoing and loved being around her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Luther T. Robinson, Dorothy Thompson Robinson, her husband Thomas V. King, and her sister Patty West. She is survived by her sister Faye Batt and her husband Murray; daughters Sandra Goodrich Bunge and husband Mike, and Robbie Goodrich Boyce and her husband Allen; son Terry Goodrich and his wife Charlotte; grandchildren Jared and his wife Jennifer, Lindsey and her husband Gale, Shane and his wife Mandy and Christi; and great-grandchildren Jalyn, Lily and Jace, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Brookdale Cy-Fair, especially all of the nurses in the memory care unit, for all the love and support they provided to our mother.
Visitation will be held at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home at 1200 W. 34th Street on Thursday May 18th, 2017 from 5-8pm with a funeral service at Pat H. Foley on Friday May 19th at 1pm. Interment to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at I-10 and North Eldridge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Mike Bunge, Jared Bunge, Shane Boyce, Allen Alexander, Gale McCorkel, Glen West, Murray Batt (Honorary), Herman West (Honorary).
