Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 11 years, Billy Blankenship; parents JC and Opal Lindsey; brother James Murrel Lindsey (wife, Robbie); sisters Mary Frances Blankenship (husband Robert), and Beverly McLendon (husband Raymond and nephew Mike). She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Lindsey, a niece and four nephews, their spouses and extended families.
Jackie worked at Brown Book Shop in downtown Houston for 17 years and at Quanex Building Products for 16 years where she retired in 1996. She was an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.
Jackie dearly loved her family and husband, Bill. She enjoyed traveling by car, cruising, reading and playing solitaire the old fashioned way with a deck of cards. She will be remembered for her sharp memory, storytelling and keen wit.
Family and friends were comforted by Jackie’s strength in accepting her illness and her preparedness to meet her Lord.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 30th at 11:30 am followed by a service to honor Jackie's life at 12:30pm. All are invited to visit with the family at the reception immediately following. All services will take place at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests donations be made in her memory to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or The Alzheimer’s Association.
