Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Baughman and son, Stephen Paul Baughman, both of Friendswood.
Mildred was born in Cuba, Alabama but raised from age 6, along with her sister, Nell, age 5, and brother J.G., age 2, by their maternal grandparents, John and Netti (Gran) Allen of Whynot, Mississippi. This was due to the death of her mother, Gladys Allen Dorough and desertion by her father. She was married to Paul Baughman in 1940 and gave birth to her two sons, Johnny Pat in 1942 and Stephen Paul in 1950.
Paul became an engineer after graduating from University of Houston and worked for Dow Chemical residing with Mildred in Lake Jackson, Texas. He also was best known for engineering the construction of Dow plants in Texas, England and Japan. He also was known for the development of MAPP fuel gas. For 17 years during this period, Mildred was popular with many locals as she worked for Dr. James A. Stewart at the Lake Jackson Medical Clinic.
After 23 years, Paul retired from Dow and started BMS, Inc. and developed High Purity Gas with worldwide distribution to the metalworking industry. In the meantime, Mildred was occupied with her beloved Friendswood Garden Club where she loved many " happy time friendships" as they worked and played together beautifying Friendswood, Texas. Her final 3 years were spent in the apartment she and Johnny Pat designed adjoining the home of Johnny and Carolyn. She loved this area and her many "beautiful Texas Hill County' excursions and shopping in Waco.
