In her lifetime, she was able to overcome many obstacles despite having only a fourth grade education. She was instrumental in gathering the required documentation to obtain Visas for her Mexican born children. She is admired for her talents as a seamstress, her cooking ablilties preparing traditional Mexican foods such as her delicious tamales, moles, enchiladas and of course those delicious ojarasca cookies that we all craved for, and so many other foods. Her ability to crochet, knit and quilt was obtained by what her eyes would see in a picture or a piece in her hands to recreate. She was an amazing seamstress, often times sewing not only the wedding dress but also bridesmaid dresses. These skills she passed on to several of her children and trust they will pass on for generations to come.
She had so many friends that most have since passed away, Las Comadres. Friendships that to this day, their children are bonded together by the bond Las Comadres had with each other. For the love and affection that so many gave to our Mama', from friends and extended family, our hearts will forever be grateful.
San Juana leaves behind a legacy of God's grace and mercy that fills the hearts of her children and their children's children for generations to come, 30 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren
