Sandra Hickerson

On Wednesday, January 13, 2021, Sandra (Gayden) Hickerson, loving wife and mother of two daughters passed away at the age of 59. Sandra was born on March 8, 1961 in New Orleans, Louisiana to her parents William Gayden and Beatrice (Bolden) Gayden. She married her husband, Glenn Hickerson of thirteen years on June 30, 2007, who she loved very much. Sandra was blessed with two children, DeShawnda (Dalton) Brown and Monique (Dalton) Smith. Preceded in death by her parents. Survived by her husband, her daughters and son-n-laws Jerome Brown and Christian Smith, her grandchildren, Damari Brown and Jaylen Brown, her brother, Larry Gayden and her Aunt, who was like a second mom to her, Rosemary Quillen along with a host of extended family members and friends.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to read her bible daily, shop, go on outings to eat at different restaurants, play with her grandchildren and spend time with her family.

Her favorite bible scripture was Psalms 23: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

A special memorial service will be held to honor her life on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek at 10:00 am.
