Samuel “Sam” P. Salazar, age 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at his home in Deer Park, Tx. He was born on September 28, 1958, in Houston, TX, to the late Jesus and Eva Salazar.
He met his wife Virginia as teenagers in 1974, and they later began a loving marriage in 1982 which spanned 38 years of complete and utter devotion. Together they raised two daughters, Samantha and Savannah, with compassion, understanding, and unwavering love and support.
Sam worked as a warehouse supervisor for Kaneka North America in Pasadena, Tx, where his career lasted over 31 years. He was committed to making Kaneka a better place and many people would agree that his work ethic was outstanding. He put his heart into everything that he did, especially the friendships he made throughout the years.
He enjoyed telling stories, cracking jokes, gardening, rock collecting, and spending quality time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Evalynn. Sam never met a stranger: he enjoyed meeting people, making them feel comfortable and included, and of course making them laugh. He will be remembered for his genuine kindness and positivity that made a meaningful impact in so many people’s lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Eva Salazar; his siblings Connie Caylor and Saul Salazar; his in-laws Antonio Martinez and Connie Duran Martinez; his brother-in-law Tony Martinez; and his daughter Virginia Starr Salazar. He is survived by his wife Virginia M. Salazar; his eldest daughter Samantha Star Salazar- Ackerman, son-in-law Brian Ackerman, and his one and only granddaughter Evalynn Ruth Ackerman; and his youngest daughter Savannah Salazar.
Sam was number eight of nine children and is survived by his siblings and their partners John and Jean Salazar, Yolanda Delgado, Fonso and Leticia Salazar, Irma and Rick Villanueva, Jesse and Letty Salazar, and Roger and Dora Salazar; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He will forever live on in the hearts and memories of his loving family and abundant friends from all over the world.
