Sal worked in the area of shoe repair and leather crafting for many years and became one of the top contributors in his field. Where among other skills, he also learned how to calculate colors for leather dying as well as how to repair and/or replace the materials on purses, shoes and the like. He mastered the skill of reattaching latches to items, bringing them back to their original state. But along with that knowledge he continued to learn the art of measuring and constructing special orthopedic foot ware.
In his early years, Sal was an Alter Boy at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Houston, Texas that served the church well. Later, he was a member of the CYO at Holy Name Catholic Church and contributed to committees such as the one planning the annual bazaar. He enjoyed singing in the Choir at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church as well as providing technical support to the choir as their electronics expert. Sal was also actively involved at the Wesley Community Center in Houston, Texas and enjoyed participating in several events and made many good friends.
He was a kind man that never wanted you to worry about him. At times quiet and reserved, but always with the desire to make new friends. He could engage in conversations with anyone he met. If you knew him, you knew what a pure soul he was.
