She was born Berneta Ruth Orton on October 23, 1928 in Cedar Park, Kansas to Bayard and Bessie Orton. Being born into a circus family, she moved around until the depression hit and the family settled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1934. There she met and married Bob Miller in December of 1945. They moved to Houston in 1955, and settled in Pasadena in 1960 where they raised three children.
Ruth was very giving and generous. She was active with many organizations throughout her life including Park Memorial Baptist Church, American Legion Auxillary Post 521 and Daughters of Ruth. She enjoyed researching genealogy and spoiling her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bayard Orton and Bessie Merle Keyser Orton, her brother, Marion Orton and her husband James “Bob” Miller.
She is survived by her children, James W. “Bobby” Miller Jr. and spouse Kaye, William P. “Billy” Miller and spouse Rita, Ruthann Aguillard and spouse Bernard, sisters Ann Jean Erickson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Helen Tomlinson of Moore, Oklahoma.
